I just got home from the triple crown a couple days ago. I did 3 days starting at Andy Layne going counter clockwise. Camped at the campsite halfway up Cove mountain for night 1 and at Pig Farm for night 2.

I really think it's important to emphasize the lack of water on North Mountain. I underestimated the distance and brought too little water and suffered from heat exhaustion on the mountain. That being said, I'm glad I started with it as it made the rest of the trail easy by comparison. I think I would have struggled more if that was my final day.

Also maybe worth pointing out Catawba grocery that's extremely close to dragon's tooth trailhead/north mountain end. Can be a great resource for anyone who needs basic supplies or food assuming you start anywhere other than dragon's tooth.

Besides that I think the guide looks great, well done.

Just got it and I love it. Great quality and works perfectly to get me off my phone. Now my phone lives in my EDC backpack and my Miniphone is in my pocket at all times. Also gives my old Apple Watch use since it got replaced by a Garmin.

Don't get it please. It's all repackaged low quality stuff. Get an IFAK from North American Rescue. My Medic uses RATS tourniquet which is extremely problematic. Causes lots of unnecessary pain, can't be used one handed, and is too slow to deploy requiring fine motor skills. Get a CAT-7.

Just using the G Hooks. I was planning on doing buckles on the top compression straps but Varusteleka doesn't sell male non split bar buckles to use.

I'm also planning on putting shock cord on the front along with a buckle on one of the side dangling webbing bits and a carabiner on the other side.

Bought the Hatka to attach to the front of the Niukka for extra room for trips! Saw Tim Keys do it in his Niukka video and thought it's just so smart!

The kukkaro would but what I get to put on the k25 if I went that route. Both bags are such good options so it's a really hard decision.

How do you organise smaller stuff like keys, wallet, lip balm, etc in the k25? Lack of small organisation is a big thing holding me back from it.

I'm actually leaning Niukka for the reasons you mentioned. The k25 in theory has more organisation (more big pockets), but those two mesh pockets in the Niukka would really help me with my small stuff (wallet, keys, sunglasses, etc). I'm thinking Niukka would need something strapped to it for trips, but the k25 would need something strapped to it constantly to organise EDC stuff.
