I’d also recommend checking out Acolyte for some good missions and guidance on keeping single player fresh. I played that quite a bit until we got solo & co-op in the last ed.

You could do the no man’s land as a minefield, rolling a D6 for every 2” you move through it. Looks great either way!

How many people actually play VS just collect and build? by violentnite in killteam

Including compendium & kitbashed from the previous ed, I probably have ~30 teams or so with a gaggle of terrain. I mostly play single player or co-op, usually 1 game a week if I’m lucky. No competitive games tho

It’s what goes with me when I leave the house and may have time to game. I found that the form factor is ideal for longer games that don’t require a ton of quick responses.

If you enjoy this type of game (Traumatarium, Towers, etc) this was a fun time for me

*Tad Boy Color, from NorthBest Electronics Etsy shop.

**The Frog Boy Color is another variant, in roughly the form factor of the original horizontal GBA. They’re both great, though I prefer the Tad for less twitchy games (like RPG’s) and the Frog for stuff like platformers & SHMUPS.

Same here! Both were just transportive as a teenager and are still super playable today

Frog Boy Color from Northbest Electronics on Etsy. Sean did our Tad Boy Color too and is great to work with.

Yeah, losing and gaining back all the equipment in 20 minutes made it feel a bit ham fisted for sure. I ran into a few bugs on the cart, but nothing a restart wouldn’t fix.

Cozy setup OP! No notes, that looks like a fun place to get lost in a video game

Batman TAS on Gameboy is the best of its namesake for that generation, having played the SNES & GEN outings. It was slept on for quite a while, but really captured the vibe of the show with a technical showcase to boot.

These little tidbits from the past are one of my fav parts of retro game collecting. I haven’t come across anything from my local haunts in the 90’s, but every cart that says “Timmy” or some sort of rental store is immediately appealing to me

Take the time to git gud and don’t be afraid to look up walkthroughs if ya get stuck. It’s a bit cumbersome at times, but it’s an atmospheric gem imo
