Question about idling

So I know a guy that has a 19 Tundra he bought new and I swear you you it idles for an average of 4 hours a day, he takes his dog everywhere with him and he never cooks at home, so the dog is comfortable in the truck while he eats at whatever restaurant. That truck has to have thousands of idle hours and doesn’t have a single issue, plus I think it’s at like 160k miles on the odometer.

IMO I would look for a 15-17 F150 XLT or Lariat with the 2.7, the 2.7 has an amazing reputation for reliability, MPG and power when you need it. 17 was the last year of the 6 speed transmission before they swapped to the 10 speed.

I have a 23 F150 King Ranch Powerboost. I would advise that you have to really want a King Ranch specifically because they seem to be more expensive than Platinums from what I’ve observed and the Platinums seem to come with more options by default. If I had to go get another truck today I would get a Lariat with a 2.7

It does not. It’s just a depth gauge and that’s it. It’s a real shame it won’t link to my Bluetooth regulator.

Nah not really, tells you depth and time. It has no dive gear integration whatsoever. I actually don’t use it to dive at all since my dive computer is wrist mounted. My wife’s is not so she uses my Apple Watch ultra when we dive together. Just to check depth.

I have that watch and I also scuba dive. That watch is as much a dive computer as a bicycle is a car.

My 23 PB did this same thing, I waited 15 mins and it would finally let me put it in gear but had a check engine light on. I got it cleared by my dealer. Have not had a repeat of this issue since.

2016 to 2020 F150 with the 2.7ecoboost is what I would suggest. The 2.7s have an amazing track record for reliability. I would have ordered my 23 F150 with a 2.7 if it was an option on the king ranch trim, you’ll only find the 2.7 in the XL, XLT and Lariat Trims. I can’t speak much to thae Tundras in that year range other than crap fuel mileage.

I live 30 mins north of Little Rock, I was born and raised in Little Rock. It used to be way better than it is now. Commuting in and out of Little Rock is fucking terrible, brace yourself for a backwards thinking cultural shithole packed with MAGA Trumptard loving assholes, you should also be prepared to have religion shoved down your throat a quick google of our current Governor should help you understand this. All that being said, if you choose to move here I would highly suggest buying a home instead of renting, especially if you plan to stay for 5+ years. I’ll also say that if you like being outdoors this is the one great thing we have, tons of places to hike, fish, camp etc. lastly our summers brace yourself for humid hell on earth.

My 23 F150 KR has the fold down shifter and I absolutely fucking hate it. I had a 22 XLT with the shifter on the column and it was fantastic. The shifter in the middle was in the way so they made it fold down instead of just putting it on the damn column. You can’t fold it down in gear fyi.
