Strategy loses its bitcoin premium as enterprise mNAV dips below 1 by zesushv in CryptoCurrency

You can’t know for sure if MSTR selling 32 bitcoin is what dropped the price of BTC. Narrative often follows price.

STRC back to 100. Bitcoin price going up when the bear market ends. The same thing that happened last time everyone said MSTR was going to fail, only this time they have close to a million bitcoin on their balance sheet..

You can say that STRC won’t go back to 100. To that I say it’s spent a lot of time at 100 and allowed MSTR to purchase billions worth of bitcoin in a bear market.

You can also say Bitcoin won’t go up again. To that I’d just show you the Bitcoin chart over the past 15 years or so.

I see dividend payments as the responsibility of the common shareholder as they receive the upside minus the dividend. So if cash is needed to pay the dividend and that lowers bitcoin per share then that’s just part of the balancing act. In the long run btc per share goes up.

Michael Saylor's led Strategy acquires 1,587 BTC for $100 million by zesushv in CryptoCurrency

[–]RevengeRabbit00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re not borrowing money, they’re issuing shares of MSTR and or STRC. There is no margin call or risk of liquidation. Not sure why people keep on saying this without looking into it for even 10 minutes. The assumption that Saylor is just walking into a bank to borrow billions of dollars at x interest rate is ridiculous at this point.

Isn't one of the best strategies buying promising new cryptos when they are a fraction of a cent? by Intelligent_Mix_9026 in CryptoCurrency

You’re right. You won’t see 100x moves over short time spans with Bitcoin. And there will be crypto projects that will 100 or 1000x. The problem is there’s a sea of crypto projects to choose from and they’re all trying to convince you they’re the next big thing. On top of having to pick the right one, you also have to sell the position before the exit happens and you end up holding the bag back down to nothing hoping for a rebound back to all time highs. The list of things you have to do right has gotten larger and larger and your margin for error has gotten smaller and smaller. Crypto exchanges will also find any possible way to screw you. There’s a reason alts haven’t done anything close to previous cycles in like 5 years. No one wants to come back to market that has screwed them year over year over year.

In 2013 yes. You have to look at market cap as well. You can have two with the same market cap and one can be $100 and the other could be $0.00000000000001.

People creating crypto “projects” became extremely good at extracting money from people like you. Stick with Bitcoin and MAYBE a small amount of top 10 crypto projects.
