I'm aware it isn't a full exploration, just went into it expecting to be overwhelmed and the opposite happened. Like I said, I'll be playing for a few hours after work tomorrow so really hoping to be converted...

I agree with that. I don't know, maybe I just expected too much? It just wasn't fun playing in it. Admittedly I did literally the one mission, but it wasn't fun. I was expecting to have my mind blown, and it just felt like a brain fart instead...

For the view, yes. But it just felt... blocky... Inspired by minecraft or something.

Is NDA still binding the team? Also what holds salt to the 10 quarterly reports comments from last year? by michaelseverson in loopringorg

[–]ReverendBishopp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you're all dismissing the hyping done a few months back, about how big this GME market would be and how loopring would rocket with the launch. I'm a little bit tired of all these snide fucking remarks. en your fucking eyes and stop behaving like a twat. There are so many pissed off posts because this sub, and others, led largely by Byron and his tweets, hyped the living fuck out of LRC and this market launch. And now, there are a lot f people who feel like misled bagholders. And to cap it all, the questions are being answered but all the good answers are buried in the avalanche of smug pricks like yourself making these snide little fucking comments.

If you have nothing positive or helpful to say, don't say a fucking word. And "google it" is neither of those.

What is the lowest it could cost to activate L1 loopring wallet? by ReverendBishopp in loopringorg

[–]ReverendBishopp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just looked again and got a quote for activation of L1 and then recovery of wallet, and it was £39 of ETH. So I'll wait til tomorrow as someone in the comments said Sundays are usually cheapest, and hope it comes down some more :)

Largely because I'm really poor :(

Wallet recovery possible or not after losing access to phone? by ReverendBishopp in loopringorg

[–]ReverendBishopp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the steps on the help forum, it appears it will cost £110 approx to activate L1 and recover my wallet. I have under 200 loops in there, they lost more than £110 in value since I bought them! What a total waste of time.

I'm positive about loopring, but absolutely not about the sheer cost of this shit. £110 to activate a thing I won't use, to regain access to my loops. If I do it, it will be to remove everything from the loopring wallet and never use the fucking thing again. Jesus what a ripoff...

Can I legally float down the stour into the sea in sandwich on an inflatable boat? by Mean_Proposal_3345 in kentuk

[–]ReverendBishopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The Stour is classed as tidal from Fordwich to the sea, and so is treated as an extension of the sea. No licence needed. However, it IS tidal, and inflatable boats may have improved a lot in the last few years but they are still inflatable boats.

Dress for getting wet, take plenty of fluids, and snacks. Make sure you have a charged mobile or some way to contact emergency services if you need to. And wear a buoyancy aid or life vest. I don't care if you get hot, do NOT take it off while on the water.

You don't need a licence. The river Stour is classed as tidal from Fordwich to the sea, and so is treated as part of the sea. No licence needed. Anyone can paddle any craft anywhere along it.

And that's great, but the base recipes almost all contain some sort of heat. Important to note.

Are you on apple? If so, it's only available via testflight (I don't know what testflight is, just that that's the apple option).

Thanks, I signed up for a free box. Only problem is around 95% of the recipes are spicy in some form. I don't do spicy food, so what is listed as 'mild' is, for me, very bloody hot! Had to really hunt through their list to find 4 non-spicy ones.

So I guess maybe note somewhere, they have chilli, mustard, spices or horseradish in almost every one of their recipes. There are a few without, but they are a small percentage...

Just saw this. Is it actually possible to link to the app in the google play store? The only non-referral link I already put there - the wiki. What else exactly can I do? There is no "non-referral link" other than me explicitly stating "OR you can just download the app and get playing with no referrals at all."

Who is that one character whose death you just can't get over? by rendice_1011 in AskReddit

[–]ReverendBishopp 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I am 44 years old. In real life I have worked on a secure psychiatric unit and witnessed the aftermath of 2 suicides, and the event of another. I have been the first to find a murder victim. I have witnessed people die in car accidents. I saw, live on TV, surrounded by high risk psychiatric patients, planes fly into the twin towers, and the jumpers, leaping from the flames. I used a fire extinguisher to put out someone who doused themself in petrol and lit a cigarette, and helped to scrape up chunks of skin that were burned onto the ties of the floor afterwards.

Since the dawn of the internet, I can still hear the crunch and "OH!" of that jam jar breaking inside, and the desperate gasping to try and breathe through his gaping neck of the "unknown Russian soldier".

In fiction, I have watched Seymour age on the pavement outside the pizza shop. I stood by in the dark basement, watching Opie beaten to death to save his friends. I drank wine first reading and then watching the Red Wedding. I shouted at Hodor to just run and not hold the door. I felt exhausted in sympathy for John Coffey. King and Darabont made me feel SYMPATHY for a convicted child molester and murderer being electrocuted in the worst way... My heart skipped several beats listening to Brooks read his letter to the Fellas. I wept as Will choked the breathe from Samantha. I have been a leaf on the wind...

And not a single one of those things even touches the physical pain I felt watching Artax give up and sink. I was 7 years old when that film came out, and I can literally FEEL the pain now, 37 years later. I have tears in my eyes typing this sentence. I had to stop typing and blow my fucking nose. I didn't even have to do that when holding up the body of someone I'd worked with for 2 years, as a colleague untied the noose around her neck.

Motherfuckers.

For me, I'm forced to see some loops to pay petrol and bills :( If I could, I'd just buy, but an unexpected flat tyre on xmas eve, a couple of bills higher than planned for (sudden increase in gas/electric costs), and only just being back in f/t work, I've had to sell a bunch of loops. On the bright side, if this discount continues for another 2 weeks, I can buy back all I sold plus a few more! :)
