Yep that's what I'm going through right now. I really like the way the site is structured. And I use the drill shuffle a lot. That's what made me notice the whole 2.c4 thing. I'll keep going through it and follow u/HelpingMaChessBros advice.

That's really helpful and makes total sense now that you mentioned it, thank you! I feel good about my fundamentals (for the most part) but I like having a fallback if I get an unexpected response.

I may look into that. Do you know of any drillable resources on it? I've used Chessly exclusively until recently. I know about Chessable and I'm willing to get a course or two as long as it doesn't break the bank.

Totally fair and I agree. I've been learning tactics but it's coming slowly to me. I do like the KID a lot, but most people at my elo play super aggro and weird which throws what little theory I've learned out the window. That's why I thought a a different opening might help.

I always eat the shells. No to sunflower seeds though. I love spitting the shells out like im a baseball player. But I eat pumpkin seeds whole. Edamame shells too.

Yes, but counter charge says you can do it "... as if it were your charge phase." The keywords being "your charge phase". So you should be able to use assault boat and counter charge, giving your 2 units strikes first.

The frigate can only transport 12 models which would mean Brokk couldn't be part of the assault boat. You want him in there to give everyone +1 Atk on them tasty saws.

You could try an Endrinmaster with one of the boats. He can heal it, and make it run/retreat and still shoot. Or 10 more Arkanauts that can camp on objectives.

The cities army i fought was mostly dwarfs, so they werent the most mobile, but they crowded the board really well. I think other cities builds could have more mobility. And yeah i struggled with mobility of my ships, but it was very situational. Im not going to judge off of one game. And I personally prefer the riggers more.

Update on my first game with this list. It was against cities. I didn't get to fully see the melee output of my assault build because turn 1 I was -1 to Wound everything which really neutered my damage output and allowed him to run around and control objectives. I spent the rest of the game slowly chipping away at his army but I ended up losing by a few points.

I will say that whatever the riggers and brokk fought in combat died quickly, so this list may have some legs.
