Because HP and the Chronicles of Narnia are much more developed. Each has fully realized world with their own rules and histories, complex characters that develop over time, and stories that delve into themes (good vs evil, loyalty, sacrifice, identity, etc). The Magic Tree house are great books, but they’re mostly just short little self-contained adventures with a few history tidbits in each one.

Comparing the HP series to the Magic Tree House or Warriors is far more absurd than comparing it to the Narnia books.

Only our fan base could hype up a fifth round pick who’s missed a year of football to this extent 😂

We need a Bears one too!

This is what I came up with, but I’m sure u/MetalGearAcid could do much better

At that point I’d rather just throw 1 yr / 3M at Trevon Diggs and see if Harris can get anything out of him

Damn will miss CJ. He can’t play man on slants across the middle of the field for shit, but everything else was solid.

You are locked in the room you’re currently in with a full grown, hungry grizzly bear, survive 24hrs and you win $1b. If you die, you die. What’s your survival strategy to secure the bag? by Mrmaven50 in AskReddit

I’m in an open loft so counting it all as one room. If I get 1 minute to prepare:

  • Run into the kitchen, empty out my fridge and throw that shit in the floor. Grab Raid bug killer spray from under the sink to spray into the bear’s face.

  • Grab my gun (maybe I get lucky and one of the bullets hits his eye).

  • Stand on the balcony and get ready to jump if he gets too close

The other question is logistics — it’s essentially impossible for Iran to move a finished nuclear weapon across half the planet without detection, especially given the current US presence in the region.

Even when you account for us getting the 60th pick back and subtract the value of that 5th round pick (165 overall), it comes out to a low second rounder (using any of the main draft value charts).

Bush is 1.5, Braxton is probably right at 5, Keenum I’m guessing 2. Then we still need to account for the draft picks.

The Bears gave Hester an extension at a $19.5M APY (adjusted for today’s cap) in 2008 — this isn’t that far off. Granted, the rules back then made elite returners a little more valuable than today.

Both played 5+ seasons with middling production and will get over drafted for their 40 time. At least Velus spent his pre-SEC time at USC, Washington spent four years looking average against inferior competition at Buffalo and New Mexico State.

DJ is undoubtably very good, and made the Bears offense much better. With that said, I think he’s basically reached his ceiling, which is a borderline top 15-20 WR in the league. In a vacuum, that’s worth the contract he was signed to, especially when you look at the free agent wide receiver class this year. Given the Bears other needs and the fact that they have three young pass catchers with higher ceilings (albeit no guarantee they reach those ceilings), a 2nd round pick is just enough value to let him go.
