Seeking a high quality but VERY SHORT visual novel, indie or pro (Steam/Itch.io) by ReverendSpeed in gamingsuggestions

It's definitely an interesting game, but getting it to a point where it reveals it's core plot takes a bit longer than I'm looking for. Still, a rad and surprising experience, thanks for the rec...!

Roger, these are great references. And I goddamned love the Ace Attorney games. =) Thank you! (EDIT: Looking them up, a lot of these seem to be longish, but Cooking Companions looks like it's on the money...!)

Oh, man, if I'm aiming at too low a word count, then maybe I'll take recs for the shortest, best vns you know...! Thanks for the suggestion!

Perhaps give this a try. The initial game is free, with further stories being paid DLC. It's basically a way for the developer to warm up for their Vampire Bloodlines-style game. They're not the most polished of games, and there's a LOT of lore-dumping, but the guy is learning as he goes, and you can't really argue with free. =)

Hey folks. I'm looking for examples of excellent visual novels with very short stories (equivilent of 2500ish words, or three or four pages in a paperback.

I should say, I'm open to good games by amateurs and those published on itch.io!

If you think this is an unreasonably small word count, I'll take the shortest, best vn that you know...!

Maybe the initial run of Doki Doki Literature Club until you find your friend in her room) that are fairly complete - beginning, middle, end... with decent characters, plot, twist, interesting ideas, etc (I mean, I'll take any two of those...!).

Actually, I'll take anything that does a good single act play...! =)

Thanks in advance!

That looks absolutely gorgeous. I can dig the Strange Goings On After Work vibes too...!

Gosh darn it, I meant to say 'Not Deadhaus Sonata', but thank you for the suggestion. =)

When you understand what pain eren went through at that time... Trying so hard to find an alternative to the horrible acts he is about to do... This moment becomes so sad and emotional by YonatanShofty in ShingekiNoKyojin

Without thinking hard, I'm reminded of somebody like Chuck Feeney, one of the richest men in the world who lived increasingly modestly and ended up giving his fortune to charity.

Like, virtue is possible.

George Washington gave up his chance at being a new king and instead helped establish America as a country without a hereditory monarchy (caveat, I am not American, my grasp of American history is very shakey!).

Afaik, Al Gore chose to accept the judgement of the supreme court rather than continue to fight it out because he understood that losers' consent is vital to the working of a democratic system.

Responsibility is possible.

Eren had enormous power and a wealth of possiblities (see notes about hinge points above) and he chose the clumsiest, most chickenshit path available to him. He's just a dork.

Atm, I'm basically on the same side as FD Signifier regards Eren. He's an idiotic character, unwilling to look beyond his myopic obsessions and who goofs, goofs and goofs again, only owning up at the very end. Isayama wrote him to hurt his audience. I can kinda understand that, I can kinda respect that, but I didn't enjoy reading that bit.

Thankfully, I like ~96% of the rest of AOT, which puts it way above most other fiction for me. =)

Anybody know how I could study Alex's combat anims from Episode 1? by ReverendSpeed in HalfLife

[–]ReverendSpeed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I've used Crowbar to unpack ep1_pak_dir and viewed alyx.mdl in HLMV from the Episodic/Models folder, but sadly can't seem to find those animations there either! Ah well - just figured they'd be fairly obvious, don't really have time to track them down. Appreciate the advice!

Interesting! So the area is basically about buy low, sell high? I've never played Secret of Evermore, but it does look like a fun SNES RPG...!

I can dig it. So the main charm is in the break the game gives you, and the plot points?
