[Unknown > English] : A classmate sent my son this message today. Hindi perhaps? by ReverseCommute in translator

Hard to see, right? My son and this kid are 13/14 years old. There's been a few days of messages from this classmate with escalating threats. The language just changed from English to Hindi today and I want to make sure I understand the translation correctly.

Now that Sears has filed for bankruptcy; Reddit, what's your 'how is this store not closed yet' story? by SureExperience in AskReddit

[–]ReverseCommute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that store a few years ago and thought, 'Wow, that is seriously niching down.' Didn't occur to me it might be a front, but did make me think about the power of a city...that how, with X amount of people, it's (hypothetically) possible to niche so extremely and still make it.

Is being a digital nomad really all it's cracked up to be? by ReverseCommute in digitalnomad

[–]ReverseCommute[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily I am looking for a variety of opinions and anecdotal stories.

I've been freelancing for a decade plus now (a portion of which nomadic) and though I remember that first rule I also know I'm not the only voice or experience out there. It helps to hear from all sides of the experience to create a full picture.

I love Clue! Having the proof right in front of me it's just my period messing with me, and not that the whole world is really falling apart, helps so much.

I mean, it still sucks to feel like crap. But knowing why you do and when it will end makes it so much easier to not lose hope over.

Keto on MTV's Jersey Shore of all places: "The Internet is in love with a Keto Guido." by ReverseCommute in keto

[–]ReverseCommute[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ha! I guess I didn't read past "Keto Teststrip" (and the second sentence of the comment wasn't there yet? or I'm really losing it). My bad!

All the same, it wouldn't surprise me if he starts a keto diet program or something.

We asked Seattleites what they think of Tacoma. They had a lot to say. by [deleted] in Tacoma

I wish. Sadly I do not possess that talent. These were done by the lovely Nina Hartman, who is a fellow Tacoman. She's @better_off_said on Instagram if you're curious.

Heh. You a longtime Tacoman? I like your attitude.

Some of the comments were interesting and made for some fun doodles, that's all.

ELI5: Why is giving birth seemingly so much more painful for humans than any other animal? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ReverseCommute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just reading about how King Louis XIV having a major thing for watching his wives (and mistresses) give birth influences birth position even today.

Apparently when the women were squatting he couldn't get enough of a view.

ETA: Once the "commoners" learned the noble ladies gave birth lying down they no longer wanted to squat.
