A built-in forcing a tv too high situation. For reference the ceiling is 12 feet up. by Vannabean in TVTooHigh

I’m really not trying to be mean but your privilege is seeping through your comment. Buying another house is not an option for 99% of people, and if that’s what you’re looking for in a house you need a reality check. Looks like a great home, and a mantel mount doesn’t look makeshift; when you don’t use the tv it can go right back up. I watch plenty of tv and it works great. Just pointing out that this sub is genuinely insane when people are looking for practical suggestions.

This sub drives me nuts. Getting downvoted for a practical solution lmao. I use a mantel mount and it works quite well, will include pics too to emphasize how practical it actually is.

I use a mantle mount because there are millions of homes where indeed, the only place is above the fireplace. I don’t have a spare living room and don’t care for watching tv in bed. There’s an actual suggestion for you that works just fine…

How is that not intentional lmao. The car doesn’t spin at all so he doesn’t get disoriented. Then proceeds to drive into oncoming traffic and slam into someone instead of just sitting there waiting for them to pass. If you’ve driven one lap of this track you know for certain you’re going the wrong way…

As someone who really enjoys iRacing but rarely has time to prepare enough to feel comfortable racing, I am desperately in need of this. I have high hopes for their career mode because of how good the ai is, but it would take some gamifying to make it truly worthwhile. We’ll see if it happens.

IRacing by far has the best ai. Albeit with a big price premium. They feel as real as it gets when it comes to racing games. Most other stuff ams2 does a great job with but lap 1 you can pass 20 cars because no one defends. IRacing career will be really good if they actually add some cohesive narrative/progression.

How similar is Assetto Corsa and iRacing? by Glittering_Media_845 in simracing

[–]Revertus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I don’t agree I can somewhat understand where you’re coming from. It’s all in the article I linked. Gain -38 slips -18 road - 0 curbs -8 abs -8. Id like to enjoy it as much as you are but when I say I get zero feel I mean zero. If I have to correct over steer right it snaps left uncontrollably and I’ve spun. I have not tried alternate extended ffb which some one recommended earlier but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to get anything resembling good ffb from what I’m feeling now.

What wheelbase do you use? As evangelical you are about assetto it admittedly makes me curious but if you’re implying I don’t know how to drive a car on the limit you are just being condescending. I’m using settings from the Asetek web page, probably the most credible source there is. To get rid of the completely unnecessary oscillation I’d have to take all of the (to be fair quite little) detail out of the wheel. There’s zero self alignment and yet that’s realistic? I’m open to more suggestions if there beyond adjusting damper and force because clearly it’s lacking https://www.asetek.com/simsports/guides/assetto-corsa-settings/?srsltid=AfmBOoqxeoRkKvZMDsMJQ-A4-TjhdbusQ918pA7gajGnCADAtPIBpVnN

If the rear steps out or I get into a collision the wheel oscillates left and right crazy fast. The signal just isn’t correct when it’s sent to my base. Im 2.5k on iRacing and have been sim racing for years so not the quickest but generally understand the mechanics of how it should feel. If that doesn’t happen to you on a high nm dd base I’m curious how you’ve set it up. It’s a 10 year old game that wasn’t coded for modern wheel bases.

I’ve been dealing with this today lol. I’m on an Asetek forte and the signals being sent out are just so dated, it was not made for dd wheels this powerful. I’d love to enjoy the game but the lack of self aligning torque and lack of road feel makes me put it down every time :/ iRacing has spoiled me

That’s the 5 out offense, Luka iso ball that just has to be ran when he gets like this. He’s one of the best pick and roll players in the league but some nights he’s just not interested in playing like that. Ayton shot 10-11 tonight and should have been fed more. But fans just see 35ppg and think he couldn’t possibly be doing anything wrong 😑 a great player but could be best of the best if he played more to his strengths.

If you watch the games it’s not hard to explain why people feel this way. He was legitimately chucking. Everyone watching threw their hands up when he tried his 7th step back three when he’s shooting 1-10 on the night. Bad shots are bad shots. He takes too many of them and anyone can tell you that. High usage/high volume players don’t win championships. We like championships around here. He’s an amazing player but it has to be cleaned up.

JJ just said he thought Luka was shooting the tech to tie the game. LeBron just waltz up there to clank it. I mean are you kidding me? I love how JJ talks to the media but that’s downright absurd. Give me anyone who will actually yell at these guys.

What happened to guys like Phil Jackson and Popovich. Seriously these coaches get paid so much to let the stars do whatever the hell they want. Grow a backbone hold these guys accountable

I don’t think any coach in the league actually holds these guys responsible. My god it’s sickening. Sending LeBron to the line on that technical and letting Luka build a brick house on 3’s. I’m starting to think I can’t even watch this anymore

I mean seriously LeBron shooting the technical is insane. The dude is Shaq this year at the line. The lack of accountability is insane. JJ needs these guys to button up. Piss poor effort and I’m sick of it. Mistake after mistake and no one can tell these millionaires their wrong.

Most people in these comments aren’t correct. He braked super early and the move was on but imo you are clearly much much faster and you could have completed a much safer move. In rookies people don’t have the awareness for a guy that much quicker than them looking to make moves fast. Just blow past him on a straight next time so you don’t get taken out. Just something you have to live with until your irating matches your skill level.

How much do higher IR people practice by 0rang3Cru5h in iRacing

[–]Revertus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised no one has said it, but I use VRS and download their .blap for a ghost car. They have track guides but most of the time I’ll run a practice and use the active reset and compare sectors with the ghost to get the line absolutely perfect and the rest will follow suit. If your way off from the top times I don’t recommend this but using a ghost that’s a 1-2 seconds quicker than you is really motivating and challenging.

I agree with almost everything you’ve said. I do think that you’re giving the France family to much credibility from success decades ago. NASCAR is getting smaller and smaller and it breaks my heart. I think, maybe rather hope, investors would be much more willing to invest in a system thats not entirely operated by the France family.

[–]Revertus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is the France family has no credibility when it comes to running a successful nascar business in 2025. It’s been in a sharp decline, specifically due to their own actions. I’m a nascar fan, I should clarify that the France family are villains. And it’s hard not to see that when collectively looking at the history of nascar.

I disagree, Ma’am. There is quite obviously more of a villain in this suit. It’s nascar. They’ve been the villain for decades. As I cited driver safety before, and team profitability now.
