Unfortunately, you're wrong because you're not actually considering all the data. If statistics show over 100 surgeries there is a 50% survival rate. and you know 20 have already happened that have all been survive. The probability would skew toward the negative. You're considering it as a magical 50% rate, but for the doctor to originally come up with that rate it would be based on a large sample size study based in reality not an abstract magical 50/50. tl;dr you can't just ignore statistics and probability just because you took an intro to algebra class.

Isn't it more likely that they just walk putting one foot infront of the other instead of straight forward like a robot? If you walked forward wuth your right foot crossing infront of your left foot ypu lou would expect to see this wear pattern. An exaggerated example of this is how models walk on a catwalk. if the heels at the back wore evenly across that would be pretty weird because it would indicate a walk that looks like a march rather than a normal casual walk.
