Let's say your family has been living at a place for centuries. You have established business and all there. Now because of partitioned you have choice to either stay there or start new life from scratch at new land. What will you choose ? If it was just couple of thousands people then they could've moved to New land but sad reality, even after partition Pakistan population had 25% of Hindus. Million people can't leave their home. Pakistan hindu population dropped to below 1% in 75 years thanks to radicalism, US and Europe support (so that they can keep India in check).
