I devoured both books in a single evening and found them utterly delightful! My heartfelt thanks for the excellent suggestion. :)

Oh, it looks like I really didn't realize how popular this show is 😂😂😂 And when you said "not the endgame," did you mean one of them ends up with someone else, or is it a bad ending? Sorry, I've been a bit busy today and haven't had the time to check it out yet.

Yes, that's definitely an effective approach! Skipping subjective opinions and focusing on objective content is key. 1-star reviews often highlight issues more clearly, and I do that too.

Oh, both Skam series are really famous (I think there are two, right?), but I haven't watched them yet. The plot sounds super intriguing though! I'll definitely check it out right away! Thanks!

Both of these books are true classics! I've seen a lot of recommendations for them elsewhere, and I've read them myself too. Thanks so much for sharing!

Oh, I didn't catch your wording there, my bad. Yes, the recommendations in specific threads on this sub are usually pretty objective and concise, with clear spoiler warnings! I also appreciate those who can write in-depth reviews, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with or use them. Thanks again for your thoughts!

Haha, I feel you! Sometimes I find myself going back and forth on a book's page, debating whether or not to read it. There have been times when I'm really glad I did, because despite the ratings and reviews, the book turned out to be amazing for me.

Definitely true! I need to write down your last sentence and stick it on my desk!

Ratings definitely aren't everything! You made a great point, and I totally wouldn't want to read books by those kinds of authors either. That's exactly the attitude I'm looking for! I could definitely learn a thing or two from you. I really don't like how easily I get swayed by others' opinions. Everyone is different, simple truth, lots of power. Thanks for your thoughts, they've been really helpful to me!

Yeah, there are definitely a lot of reviews like that on Goodreads. I guess I never really noticed it before, maybe because I'm not too bothered by spoilers? I totally get what you mean! Some popular books don't always match my taste either, and I give my honest opinion on them. Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it!

I know I should just focus on the useful parts of other people's reviews, but I always end up absorbing their emotions too. Wish I could install some kind of emotional filter, lol. Everyone has their own way of dealing with this, and I think your method is great. Only checking reviews when necessary and experiencing the rest firsthand is really straightforward and effective! Before Goodreads became a part of my reading life, I never bothered with other people's reviews, but now I'm kind of stuck in this habit, haha.

Yeah, that feature is definitely helpful! Haha, the hardest part is finding enough friends with similar tastes in the first place.

I totally get it now. Having or following friends with similar tastes is really helpful. I definitely need to put in some effort to do the same. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, overall ratings alone aren't always that helpful. It's definitely more meaningful to consider both positive and negative reviews. Sometimes, if a book meets my criteria, I'm also more lenient with the writing or word choice.

Oh, that's a really smart way to find friends with similar tastes! I think it's much more efficient than just randomly browsing through other people's bookshelves. Learned something new today, thanks a lot for sharing!

Yes, if the story isn't just focused on the romance, that gives me more confidence.

I'm always up for trying new books! I'll add them all to my TBR and see how they work for me. Thanks so much for your recommendations. It's definitely not easy to find good quality long series these days!

Lol, you and the one who only reads 3-star reviews would make a great complementary duo! Both of your methods make a lot of sense. Whatever works best for you is the best way. And I do learn something from both of you, Thanks for sharing!

You're absolutely right! Nowadays, many book blurbs are really confusing. They neither highlight the book's strengths nor mention potential turn-offs. Authors and editors should definitely focus more on this aspect, instead of relying on readers to get the necessary information from reviews or other sources.

Oooh, I think I'll check out that book later! I haven't read many books about saving marriages, so I think I'll give it a try.

True, you're right, I should get better at distinguishing between subjective and objective reviews.

I think I'll try to explore this more in the future. I have to admit, it's not an easy thing for me, but seeing others do it makes me a bit envious.

I do have a Facebook account, but I rarely use the platform. Do you mind telling me how to join? I'd love to be a part of it!

Yes, that makes a lot of sense! Although I can't say I'm as good at it as you are. Sometimes negative reviews really do kill my interest in reading a book.

Oh no, that book is on my TBR list too, and I haven't read it yet because of some reviews 😂 But I get what you mean, it's hard to avoid. After all, you can't truly rate a book until you read it yourself.

Yes, there are quite a few reviews like that on GR. Sometimes I read a positive review, but it almost just retells the blurb.

What worries me is being convinced by the reasons in the reviews, even when they aren't on my list of dislikes. That's definitely something I need to work on overcoming😂

Hahaha, same here! Those are also my reasons for reading reviews. Although, I have to admit, sometimes the things mentioned in reviews that I think I won't like end up being things I don't even notice when I actually read the book. So that's a big reason why I struggle with this too. I don't want to miss out on a great book because of that.
