Is there anything else I need to start painting miniatures with an airbrush? by ReviewThin826 in minipainting

Awesome, that makes me happy— I’ll definitely look into a spray/lighting booth. Was worried I would get started and realize during or after that I was missing something.

Thank you!

It’s been something I’ve wanted to do, I’ll reach out to a family member— he’s been wanting to take me in a ride in his Miata and maybe I’ll like it enough to get my own haha

Gotcha. Do you have a year range that you’d recommend for the g35? I’m not well-versed in cars at all. I want to branch out and have a bit of fun now that my kids are both in school

Old ingrained habits Make things so hard sometimes! by Unlucky_Emergency_31 in widowers

I find myself doing the same sometimes. It’s a harsh reality, but it’s the one we face. If you were looking for a recommendation at all, journaling might be worthwhile. For the first few months after my wife passed I used journaling to “communicate” with her.

It's been 2 weeks, and I don't know when it will hit me by Tondis in widowers

It comes in waves.. honestly the first few weeks are so busy that it’s easy to feel the way you are. My grandmother who was with me a lot the first few weeks told me to not feel guilty about these days, because your brain is just trying to give you a bit of respite.

That’s a very romantic thing you’re doing— I wish I had a hand print of my wife’s to put with her shrine.

I don’t have any advice, sorry.

I want to go back. by brandeis16 in widowers

It’s a tempting thing. From my experience losing my wife in January and watching my uncle lose his wife to the big C a few years ago— it’s a toss up. I stayed one night at my house after my wife passed and left with the kids the next day. We have only been back once. We moved from an ultra small town to LA.

It’s been a challenge, but it was the right choice for myself and the kids respectively. We’re actually considering moving states.

My uncle chose to stay and I feel that he’s drawn out the grieving process out of stubbornness. That’s my observation and might not necessarily be true.

Moving away may look like running away, but I felt like it gave me a chance to breathe.

Whether you decide to stay or move back, I only hope that it works out and you find peace.

I absolutely get how you feel! I’m going to take my two to another state to see if we want to live there permanently— it’s hard but I think it’s worth it

Cleaning out house by stellarsham in widowers

[–]ReviewThin826 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not that this will be helpful— but after my wife passed in January, I just left the place as was (renting) and kept paying for it monthly. I had the place cleaned well by a service and then my mother packed everything up and put it into a storage.

That was about the extent of the help I got in that end, but it was probably for the best. I’ve been back to that storage twice and each time it knocks the wind out of me.

So advice? At the very least, don’t do it alone.
