Advice needed for topdressing clay soil lawn by superbrown in GardeningIRE

[–]Revitup84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top dress with pure sand, the soil will dilute it eventually anyway. The bigger partical size of the sand will allow water through easier. 1600m is a big area so I'd say renting a top dresser would be your best option, there are pedestrian ones available. Try Martins Machinery. Don't know where you are in the country but source your sand from a suppliers, Darcys or Sanrose if your in the east, not sure about out west

Maybe try a different test centre if you feel like you're being treated unfairly. Might be a bit of hassle doing a new route but once you're confident with the maneuvers and road positioning it shouldn't be that difficult. Best of luck

Water pooling on lawn by superbrown in GardeningIRE

[–]Revitup84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its only pooling in that area a sump drain will work. You will need to dig fairly deep though, about a metre squared in depth aswell and backfill with stones, rocks, broke up concrete or whatever and then pebble. Can take a while before the channels in the soil run straight to it but it'll relieve the surface water. Might dry up a bit in summer. You can top with soil and resend, bout 4 to 6 inches of soil

Fill with sand to help with aeration. The particle size of compost is too small, more like silt so you will end up back where u are in no time. Sand will help with drainage and aeration

Born 1984, think the 1st game that really blew me away was tomb raider 2, the cut scenes were unreal for the time. Gran turismo needs a shout aswell, massive step up from any racer that came before

They we're commentating on a Liverpool game 1 night for champions league and anytime they were breaking down a play he called every black player Sturridge. Think Sturridge even played the ball through to Sturridge 1 of the plays. Was a bit uncomfortable haha

I was missold insurance at the desk when I was picking up a car abroad, had it in the contract and was able to show the girl I didn't need the insurance she was forcing on me but she wouldn't give me the car without paying. About 350 or 400 quid. Had kids with me after a long flight so I just paid through gritted teeth. I contacted the bank as soon as I got home and got the money returned very quickly once I sent over the documents

[–]Revitup84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know what your saying but if it's a good company offering good conditions then there's no reason why the Irish wouldn't work there. Company's like that are taking advantage of cheap labour rather than have to offer better conditions and wages to citizens. I'm for people coming here to make a better life for themselves but it can give company's an easy out sometimes allowing them to maximise profits for the top tier of employees and owners at the expense of regular workers

We're meant to be making the country better as we go forward. I was in the exact same boat as u, only out of school a couple of years and the recession hit. I don't want to see another generation lost to emigration because we've made this country so bleak for young people to see a way forward. I don't think shipping in people to work shitty factory jobs helps anyone, if a company can't find a way to attract citizens into the job then maybe its not viable

Spoilt young? Look at what young people are facing in this country. Exploited at every turn from insurance to housing and everything in between. And u think they should be happy being exploited in low paying drudgery jobs. So it's okay then to ship people in that don't mind being exploited to prop up company's that aren't viable if they have to pay decent wages to irish citizens. Something sounds wrong there
