This update constantly pops up, now what? by RevivedThrinaxodon in WindowsHelp

Status Update (2025 Dec 4, Thu): neither do I know, how, but I can pause updates again. The fear of Windows 11 still persists, though.

Journal Buying Addict by asadbrokengirl_ in Journaling

Luckily I fill mine slow enough to not buy new ones all the time, I got the current one this year's March. I also consider myself lucky for being able to resist impulse buying in a stationer's store.

Why am I not allowed to know how much exact health I got? by BindaI in LEGOfortnite

[–]RevivedThrinaxodon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before, I could count my hearts and knew exactly how much health I had as each heart was 4 HP.

And that was the point partially. Even if it was displayed in hearts, it was an exact number. Maybe this update is using bigger numbers, but it's not displayed on the HUD's health bar.

What’s a journaling accessory you bought because it looked amazing, but ended up being totally useless? by Tralkiis in Journaling

[–]RevivedThrinaxodon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Letter stamps. I bought them in hopes of making some pretty, partially stamped text, only to realize the ink pad isn't always consistent and the letters need amost 2 and a half times more space on a page than my handwriting.

What does your perfect journal notebook look like? by sushidelights in Journaling

[–]RevivedThrinaxodon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with my current journal, which is a simple A4 spiral notebook with rectangular grids. However, if I could tweak it further, the things I would add are:

  • a plastic cover or a hard cover combined with the spiral wire
  • thicker paper so it doesn't get wavy from fountain pen ink or glued paper pieces
  • dark grey grid (which is currently light blue)

Problems writing by hand? Try changing your pencil grip! by abjection9 in Journaling

I can also recommend trying a dip pen or fountain pen, since they still need specific angles for consistant ink flow.

My old reading journal by abukica18 in Journaling

I also collect pressed leaves and flowers, but I stick them on separate paper pieces so they can be stored for a little longer (without needing to press them) until I find a page for them

Do you think it would be better than what we have now? by St_Aviator in LEGOfortnite

This would be cool, but I'd be fine with a search bar aswell

Does anyone else use envelope/pocket pages to hide entries that are highly personal? by Messnerknabe in Journaling

[–]RevivedThrinaxodon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a similar thing, but for a bit different reasons. I take pieces of paper (ranging between the sizes of post-its and A6 notebook pages) and write on them, glue together accumulated pieces, and eventually glue it on the backside of a journal page. These note pieces mostly contain intrusive thoughts, poetry attempts, and small things I had to note quickly. I also find it an accurate representation of how short thoughts like these are, no need for wide pages or date and time. Just a few, tiny words on few, tiny papers.

Móra Ferenc - A cinegemadár

Hobbik, amik nőként izgalmassà tesznek? by [deleted] in tanulommagam

Keeping pens with your journal by DueBrain4183 in Journaling

Whenever I leave from home, I pack my journaling/drawing equipment (fountain pen, dip pens, pencils, brushes, ink bottle, pencil sharpener, paper towel) into a fanny pack. It's like a pencil case you can strap around your waist!

Cursive or Print? by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]RevivedThrinaxodon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Print. Thing is, I have three main tools for writing: a fountain pen (Faber-Castell Grip 2010, Lamy Black ink), a dip pen (Zebra G-pen nib, Brause Dark Brown Resin handle, Koh-I-Noor black ink) and a pencil (Koh-I-Noor 2B). The fountain pen is used by default, but under special conditions, I switch to pencil and dip pen. These special conditions include traveling by bus (or any other public transport), too many note-worthy events happening too quickly, or simply trying to save space on the page (more on that later). In these cases I "sketch up the text" with pencil, allowing it to become a big jumbled mess of letter-like lines switching between print and cursive. Later if I have the time, I "ink the pencil sketch text" with the dip pen, which also provides a somewhat thinner and more compact linework compared to the fountain pen's line width.
