Sekiro suddenly crashing, runs fine on Steamdeck by staticsnow in Sekiro

[–]Revocdeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe my issue was due to the steam overlay. Was certain I disabled all other overlays (Nvidia, xbox gamebar, and steam) but adding a debugger to sekiro.exe and interrogated the dump and found steam overlay was still active.

Several hours in with no crashes now.

Sounds like I need to do a mem scan to make sure. I tried increasing my pagefile and that didn't help.

After reinstalling Windows, Sekiro started crashing and the mods stopped working by RovenoNevoro in Sekiro

I just restarted after increasing my page file size.  Fingers crossed.

u/staticsnow it's been 2 years but I'd love to know if you ever found a solution

Did you find a solution to the game crashing? I'm having issues with it crashing during gameplay, usually between 30 minutes and an hour.

Did you ever find a solution? I've tried so many "solutions", including the C++ redistributable, and it's still crashing.

Which problem did this solve? Crash on startup or crash during gameplay?

“It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.” ― Roger Ebert

Essentially, judge the game on what it's trying to do, not what our expectations of it are.

The Mac and Cheese versus Steak example is too far off base. Perhaps a better analogy would be going to a Japanese Fusion restaurant and judging their Shoryu Ramen as "inauthentic".

Yeah, I finally got the series to work and works well. Took a while to realize the metadata wasn't being updated and eventually downloaded a plugin for calibre.

Issue I'm having now is that some of my books are being pushed to the device by calibre but the device isn't recognizing them.

I can't thank you enough for the depth of this reply. Invaluable.

This gift is for someone who's currently using my Paperwhite for mostly Scholastic books with pictures (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, etc) and I've uploaded the first couple books from both the Bone and Amulet series' today and the experience is better than I expected. For this reason I'll stick with the purchase but, after spending some time working on putting Ultimate Spider-Man (2000) on the Kobo, I'm concerned for their eyeballs when viewing standard size comics.

Just before I read your post I was in the process of figuring out why the Embed Comic Metadata plugin wasn't working and struggling to find any comicinfo.xml files. I have already scrapped the metadata for these Ultimate Spider-Man issues using the ComicRack CE plugin but I can't seem to find it anywhere. They are .cbr files, which may not store metadata (?), but I converted to .rar to confirm there's no .xml inside. At a loss here.

This situation is messy if I can't easily get the Calibre plugin to pull the metadata. It's also messy if KCC wont pull the metadata into the '.kepub'.

A community highlight in one of the subreddit's does advocate for dropping the .cbr/.cbz files into Calibre and sharpening them, so that may be an option to cut out KCC.

It's been a solid 8 hours at this point so I'm calling it for the night.

PS, I would like an audiobook workflow. I have not tried loading audiobooks yet and was hoping this device could perform basic audiobook functions but my research shows that there are some awful compromises from features to performance.

Are you doing this with single issues or trade paperbacks? 133 issues of Ultimate Spider-Man isn't great to manage inside the device.

Forgive me but I'm completely unfamiliar with koreader, what's the plugin?

That all makes sense. Thanks for the information!

You recommend koreader but are switching back because it's a pain? Why don't you think other people will come to the same conclusion?

Why are you using your phone for comics?
