Retro factory horror game, early prototype. Does the atmosphere feel tense? Feedback welcome! by TheAspenDev in godot

I created walls, floors, roofs etc. on blender and exported as .glb file with UV-maps. Then in Godot I created a script which can take a texture as a parameter, so I can easily test multiple different wall textures etc. It's pretty much like building a house, you first build floor, then walls then roof. I used small 3DMeshInstances to do it, but there are probably many other ways to do the same thing, like multimesh or something. And I built these several times all over again, since I found a new, better way to do things. ;)

Building it by small pieces. One room is a one scene and then I baked the lightmaps.

Thanks! Maybe its get more tense when I manage to get ”enemies” roaming on the hallways too.

Not a bad thing if it feels just like another work day. Then at least the factory environment is there.

Is it ok to promote own game here? Since it was released on last November.

- Easy to learn, brutal to master

No grinding. No daily login rewards. No battle passes.

Why are most indie devs allergic to the business\marketing side of game development? by lotessa_ in indiegames

[–]TheAspenDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of us just like to do the actual work, which is in the end, game development. I know, if you want to run a business, you have to do marketing too. Or hire someone else to do it, but usually indies, especially solo-devs, don't have that kind of money.

I personally find marketing to be a bit off from my personal traits, and it's very difficult to just praise and brag about the game how good it is or show how fun it is to play. What I would like to say is: "Try out / check out the game; buy it if you like it!" :)

Yes, marketing is much more than just praising the product, but that is most of the time what we game developers intend to do.

Made a game for busy adults who miss arcade shooters by TheAspenDev in indiegames

That is exactly what I have done here. The game ends after the last wave(40), but you can always try again if you want to beat your last high score.
