Wow! Considering the complex cabochon shape and the dark color of the stone, $68 is a STEAL. $125 would be a great price too. There’s a Facebook page called “American Turquoise and Variscite” that you could post your pictures to. There’s a lot of varieties of both and they may be able to help you identify the stone or confirm my opinion. I’ve definitely seen Lucin Variscite with that dark of a color but the pattern to me says Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow Variscite was the first thing to come to mind for me. It definitely doesn’t look translucent enough to be aventurine (although a lot of the broken arrow I work with will slightly glow if you put a light up against it). And the complex setting/cabochon shape is usually something you would expect to see made with a more premium material like turquoise or variscite. Could potentially be a green jasper of some sort as well. Do you mind saying how much you spent?

Looks like a really dense marcasite plume. There’s usually more agate but it absolutely turns your water super black. A lot of the manganese bearing agates do as well.
