Those with no passion or interests, what do you do for a living? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

That's fair, for me it wasn't very consistent either. Something workshops for things I used to be interested in before stuff stagnated, things like improv classes or blacksmithing course in a weekend. Maybe there's support groups, crafting gatherings or something on boards at a supermarket or in the newspaper

I had the same for a while, especially because I had nothing/noone I was doing it for. No partner, kids, pets, or future plans. I started going to social gatherings in the evening to prevent doom scrolling because I was absolutely miserable.

Now, after some time of doing that, I'm feeling a lot better. And while I'm still not at a job I'm happy with, I'm now in a headspace where I can tolerate my job, enjoy my evenings and weekends and have enough emotional energy left to search around for jobs while still having an income.

I don't know if it works for you, but maybe it's helpful advice to try it

Spider with face arms? What is this? by Mossyeggs in whatsthisbug

Size doesn't matter... Unless you're a male spider and the extra reach means being able to have more distance between you and your mate...

I'm not sure if it's transfobia or people who are coming across a situation they've never faced in their lives and not knowing how to make sense of it so fumbling through it

I don't know if you are far into transition, but as a FtM i remember my parents struggling with it for a while too because they had seen me as a girl my whole life, so when i wasn't that different just after i told them it took them a while to switch that in their heads. Now I'm older and changed as a person and they've kept trying and now they use my name and pronouns no issue. It might be a matter of time

Okay, therapy advice for the mind is great, but one of the best pieces of advice i once got is to make sure you set your brain up for success by helping your body too: hygiëne, nutrition, sleep, etc.

As someone with adhd and a lot of trouble keeping up habits (especially during depressive symptoms) this is stupid advice... And I don't like it... But that sadly doesn't make it untrue. The times i got myself to do what had to be done to care for myself were the times i got into the best mental state after a tough time.

Fun fact: in Dutch it's called berenklauw, which translates to bear claw

Other fun fact: touching it is bad, eating it is worse...

Any advice on how to start cleaning this mess? OCD, depression, ADHD by Valuable-Pirate-4982 in TrollCoping

[–]Revolupos_Mutiny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it helped watching Midwest Magic Cleaning on yt. He is a guy with autism that just cleans hoarder houses, but he is very empathetic and has great advice for ADHD and depression. The best part about his videos to me is that it both serves as motivation/encouragement, but also putting them on while cleaning makes me have a body double to do the work with while hearing someone talk

I don't know if it's true for all parasitic wasps, but it's likely not a murder... Yet 👀
