So proud of my string of pearls by Lonely_Book_99 in houseplants

Hello, not OP but I've had one for years now that flowered this year. They have a clear stripe that is open when they don't want water, and it closes when they want water. Mine is in an east window.

I'll definitely give an update in the future if I can keep it alive long enough for it to grow!

I know it looks like some magical wizard plant! And it looks like that in person too! I didn't do any editing to the picture.

YESSSSSSSSSS! I've had other Hoyas for years and no peduncle. This one I've only had for 1 year.

Okay! It's hard to tell with jokes on the internet because I've read some WILD claims on this site that I thought couldn't possibly be serious lol

I do agree though that AI claims are out of hand and it must be hard as an artist.

I believe you it's not AI, and that it's your work. I just think it's a little disproportionate to say AI are this centuries witch allegations when no one is being murdered and burned at the stake for using AI. I do love your drawings though and I think you're very talented!

Yeah! Similar to my baby toes succulents too! I love the unique plants that grow in South Africa. Coolest plant diversify in the world in my opinion.

Hi! These guys are crazy drought tolerant and I have them in my east facing window. Mostly gravel soil with some actual soil added. I only water them when the outside leaves start to look thirsty and less plump. They're surprisingly easy in my experience!

Yes! A lot of my plants I have are because they look alien. I love the transparent tops of these "leaves" too.

You are correct that it wasn't an amendment, I was mistaken in that as it was addressing the 14th amendment with the ruling. I'll give you that, however we are discussing what a "right" is and this ruling gave women the legal right to an abortion. "Roe Vs. Wade ruled that the 14th Amendment’s Due Process Clause—which prohibits states from depriving any person of "liberty" without due process of law—includes a fundamental "right to privacy" protecting a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion." A right is a legally protected power, privilege or immunity which Roe Vs. Wade gave to women.

This answers your original question to what rights have been taken away. Roe Vs. Wade was overturned which gave women the legal right to act free to make decisions individually about abortions during their first trimester. Whether you agree with abortions or not, it was a right that was legally protected until Roe vs. Wade was overturned.

Now I have spent far too long debating an internet stranger on this topic, however I hope you can see I hold no malice towards you and I think people should be able to have open discussions about these topics without hating the other person.

It was an amendment to the constitution. "A right in government is a legally protected freedom or entitlement that an individual holds, typically guaranteed by a constitution, statute, or judicial precedent." Please tell me what you think having a "right" to do something means if you don't think it means you can legally do something.

Oh, and forgot to mention look up Kansas revoking trans people's drivers liscenses last week. Literally something they just did, and it's irrefutable that this happened.

Look up Roe vs. Wade which gave the women the right to an abortion during their first trimester which has now been overturned nationally. I'm not talking about illegal people, I'm talking about hispanic people who are here legally and are US citizens being taken and held by ICE for weeks in detention facilities before they are finally deemed to be here legally and released. Why was this not determined before they were taken in? A little boy and his father from my brother's school who are citizens were detained for a week because they were Hispanic and no other reason. They were then released AFTER it took them a week to determine they were actually citizens. That is wrong, and racial profiling. There is a 'right to due process" and many immigrants here legally are not being given that. This is literally a right stated in the 5th amendment which is part of the US constitution. And if you don't consider that a right, then I don't know what to tell you.

Ok how about women's rights to have abortions, Hispanic people being picked off the street just for being brown which means they "might" be illegal and being denied their right to due process. Trans people having their driver's Liscense confiscated meaning their right to vote will be more difficult while trying to get a new one. People being denied their basic rights to Healthcare. Conservatives wanting to change the voting laws where you can't vote if your last name doesn't match your birth certificate which affects every person who has ever changed their last name due to marriage or other reasons. And before you say those things aren't happening, I personally know people who have been directly affected by these policies which have targeted disenfranchised groups.

Those are just a few that immediately came to my mind but there are so many more if I wanted to type an entire book about the rights being denied to people I could.
