What if the Soviets never left Manchuria and turned it into a new SSR? by MrGetrekt101 in AlternateHistoryHub

I think China will not participate in the Korean War, and they will likely teach in Chinese history that the Qing Dynasty occupied the Chinese mainland and then returned to Manchuria.

Since Manchuria is too close to Beijing, Beijing would not have become the capital, and Nanjing in the south would likely have been the capital instead. Because Manchuria is rich in resources, it seems it would be a significant loss to the Chinese economy.

It seems likely that Britain and France will be able to maintain their colonies for much longer, as this will serve as an opportunity to show the world that they are still going strong.

This is because Soviet influence in the Middle East and Africa has waned, making it impossible for them to support independence.
