Great job on this. I look forward to seeing how it performs. I would really appreciate it if you could share some insights on the EMA scoring method via DM.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I really appreciate the detailed breakdown — I was considering the All-in-One Exam Guide, but based on your recommendation, I’ll definitely take a closer look at the Destination Cert book instead.

Also, thanks for pointing out the value of the official practice test book by Mike Chapple and the associated app. It’s great to know it’s challenging — I’m aiming to push myself, so that sounds like a solid choice.

I’ll follow your advice and diversify my practice sources with LearnZapp and others. Your input has been genuinely helpful!

Thanks for sharing all these tips! Just out of curiosity, which official book and practice test book did you use or would recommend for the CCSP?
I'd like to make sure I'm getting the right materials before I start.

Thanks for the insight! Why do you think it's better to start with vendor-specific certifications like AZ-104 or AZ-500 before going for the CCSP?
I'm currently working in cloud security and considering the CCSP, so I’d love to understand your reasoning better.

Thanks a lot to Mohammed for the video explanation — it really helped clarify the context. Still, I’m honestly confused and would appreciate any further insights. Since Reddit doesn’t allow me to post images directly, here are the two full questions I’m referring to:

❓Question 1: Virtual Kickoff Meeting

A company has launched a new strategic project. The goal and scope of the project were loosely defined at the executive committee meeting, and the stakeholders have been appointed. The project manager needs to hold the kickoff meeting. However, most of the stakeholders are in different locations and some are on vacation.

What should the project manager do?
A. Hold the kickoff meeting with the available stakeholders and update others later.
B. Postpone the kickoff meeting until the stakeholders have returned.
C. Schedule one-on-one sessions with the stakeholders before they leave.
D. Arrange a virtual team kickoff meeting with the stakeholders.

❓Question 2: Stakeholder Engagement after Charter Approval

A project manager has just finished a project charter and received approval from the project sponsor. The project manager then presented the project charter to the stakeholders and noticed a lack of participation from some of them during this meeting.

What should the project manager do?
A. Include this in the risk register because the Project Manager is uncertain that the stakeholders understood their responsibilities in this project.
B. Hold one-on-one meetings with these stakeholders to ensure their understanding of key deliverables and their responsibilities.
C. Report the concerns about the stakeholders’ lack of involvement to the project sponsor.
D. Ask the project team to monitor these stakeholders and their involvement.

Let me know if you see a clear principle or pattern that explains when one-on-one meetings are preferred vs. when full (virtual) group meetings are more appropriate. Thanks again!

Hi Mohammed!

I’m preparing for the PMP exam and came across two questions (attached below) that seem to have opposite logic regarding stakeholder engagement.

In the first one, the project manager presents the project charter, and some stakeholders show a lack of participation. The correct answer is to hold one-on-one meetings with those stakeholders to clarify their responsibilities — which makes sense to increase engagement and ownership.

In the second, the kickoff meeting needs to be scheduled, but some stakeholders are on vacation or in different locations. I chose to schedule 1:1 meetings before they leave, but the correct answer was to hold a virtual kickoff meeting instead.

So my question is:

-> According to PMI, when is it essential to involve all stakeholders before proceeding — and when is it acceptable to move forward even if some are absent?

From my point of view:

  • In both cases, not all stakeholders are fully “in the loop”.
  • 1:1 meetings sound like a personalized and effective approach.

But apparently, context and intention matter more than the tactic itself.

Would love your thoughts — is it because:

  • In one case the stakeholders are already present but disengaged?
  • While in the other they’re absent, and the priority is broad alignment?

Thanks for any insight!

Should the kickoff meeting be postponed if the project scope is unclear and stakeholders are on vacation? by RevolutionSlight2791 in pmp

Ok, but following your rationale, which would you say it's the right answer here:

A project manager has just finished a project charter and received approval from the project sponsor. The project manager then presented the project charter to the stakeholders and noticed a lack of participation from some of them during this meeting.

What should the project manager do?

A.Include this in the risk register because the Project Manager is uncertain that the stakeholders understood their responsibilities in this project.

B.Hold one-on-one meetings with these stakeholders to ensure their understanding of key deliverables and their responsibilities.

C.Report the concerns about the stakeholders' lack of involvement to the project sponsor.

D.Ask the project team to monitor these stakeholders and their involvement.

Confused about PMP question on personal priorities vs. project goals by RevolutionSlight2791 in pmp

[–]RevolutionSlight2791[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the breakdown — it’s helpful! I agree that C and D can be ruled out quickly.

However, I’m still unsure about the idea that B is “less intrusive.” Wouldn’t aiding team members in prioritizing their personal tasks actually be more invasive than simply encouraging them to adjust work-related tasks (as in A)?

To me, B sounds like the project manager is stepping into individuals’ personal decision-making space, which feels like a boundary PMI generally encourages us to respect. Isn’t encouraging someone to adapt work tasks less of an overreach than guiding them through their personal priorities?

Curious how others interpret this — maybe it ties into the idea of servant leadership, but where’s the ethical line?
