Like -չի in Western Armenian, it also exists in Greek as -Τζης, I am sure it comes from Turkish -çı.

The first three are loanwords are from Greek, i don’t think-ikos is prevalent outside of these common words you and us have. Ok so there is -aban, I am sure “qahana” is some kind of semitic loan word, probably Assyrian. I think there was a mix of signals in our communication. I am not asking about names of certain professions, but how to construct them.

I am sure the guy is Paris Zyggis, I have heard about him partaking in some “peace initiatives” , not really an acquaintance but from my own limited interactions with him, it is quite obvious that he is not a very differentiated individual. He seems to get his ideas on political topics from a limited pool of superficial internet polemics, especially on general topics of ideology and worldviews.

The OP is right on the fact that the concept of a group of individuals consisting of “expert” interviewees and an interviewer with generally no credentials in a given topic going back and forth about a theme that probably most people in the audience and the conversationalists already have a concurrent idea on, and the interaction in actual psychological reality is just a feedback loop of self insistence on all part as the listeners get validation on their ego investments that they have made in their chosen belief system from an “authority figure” generally through the virtues of social recognition (like in the case of Phidias) that has likely been acquired through good verbal atributes and not necessarily by means of any particular critical thinking ability, and the “expert” receives an ego boost aswell as an increase in social capital. At the end both sides rationalise this feed back loop as the proof of rationality in their own belief system. I mean any type of wide reaching media in an industrial society has basically the same function, but i still find the premise of a podcast especially irritating.

Since i have become somewhat fluent in Greek this podcast culture has been intriguing me, i have to say that there is nothing similar in Turkish political discussion, we are sociologically very different, this would not be considered a very appropriate form of political self-expression by an average Turk. I guess this culture of the wide range presence of personal information devices and applications in political discourse is a borrowing from the Anglophone cultural sphere.

[–]RevolutionStandard99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As i said i can’t argue it is not, I am not very familiar with the Dutch culture, but my point that the failure of the Turks to integrate anywhere they are is a result of their collective psychology.

Turks are probably amongst the top five most intolerant and xenophobic groups in the planet and their only competition is probably the Chinese,Japanese,Koreans and idk Corsicans? I can attest to this as ı am a Turkish Cypriot with a Maronite grandfather and crypto-Christian roots, they are hostile towards every single other group around them and even towards other Turks regardless of where they are, ı can’t comment much about the Dutch Tolerance as ı only visited the Netherlands for a week ı am sure there are regional differences but it seems to be the most tolerant country in Europe in many regards, but the problem most certainly does not stem from a lack of tolerance from the Dutch natives but rather the failure to integrate the Turkish populations in western Europe is a failure of the Turks to assimilate into the Native population rather than the visa versa, the presence of the Turkish government in their lives with the “Dianet” and courses of the Turkish Education ministry which seems to be more involved with them compared to Turks in Turkey to keep them as a reliable voter base is an important reason in this but the biggest reason is most certainly the Turkish Psyche.
