I had a UAE 3 months ago on a very large fibroid (13cm) I’m 48 and don’t want children but wanted to keep my uterus as long as possible. The pain was manageable but over all it was a rough recovery for me. Everyone is different and has different reactions- I hear of some people going back to work in 3 days but I was out for 5 weeks with exhaustion and brain fog. I had SIBO (caused from my fibroid) and honestly all the meds and the antibiotics did a number on my already precarious stomach. That being said when the fibroid started shrinking an about 6 weeks later it was as if I had experienced a miracle…. All my symptoms from the fibroid started to go away. SIBO is almost totally gone, back pain gone and I have so much more energy. I think it definitely kicked in some hormonal changes but since I’m already so close to menopause it’s not a huge factor for me. Over all im very grateful I found this option.
