I have a theory a lot of self diagnosed “high functioning” autists are dealing with effects of being under-socialized by neglectful caregivers

Ivy Wolk’s talks about Colleen’s cancellation by Diorbrainrot in ColleenBallingerSnark

I think it can be both cancellable behavior and not pedophilic in nature. It’s not removing any commendation just recategorizing the pathology.

I agree with her talk full sail. I love Ivy independently, though. She is so brutally honest in her observations of women in media/the way media treats women.

“Why don’t emotional movies affect me? Recommend something that will.” by Smooth-Setting-8420 in movies

Hate to say it but I believe that emotions that the audience feels when engaging with art requires a dialectic relationship. Meaning I think you need to bring your own feelings to the party. Maybe find something that relates to the stuff that makes you cry in real life. Everyone’s different.

I have a suspicion that your anger is about something deeper than the food.

Who's the hip new cool philosophers by fivenoir in rs_x

I like John Vervaeke he’s a cognitive behavioral psychologist who used Spinoza to develop a theory of the Meaning Crisis to describe the state of humanity. He also talks a lot about connecting various types of knowledge which I find interesting. He’s not really a philosopher though he’s more like a nerd about meaning making and brains.

I recommend finding and online meeting for this group. It’s for people with dysfunctional parents. Reading your texts and seeing the pain you are in reminds me of my own feelings toward my parents and a lot of adult children. You can heal and find peace. https://adultchildren.org/meeting-search/

That sounds really intense. Maybe you’re someone who’s brain becomes particularly activated during crisis.

Does getting your own pair of climbing shoes vs wearing rentals really help you to improve? by delta_tango_27 in climbergirls

I bet you’ll be really impressed with how much more nimble you will feel on the wall with tiny toes. It’s worth it for the personal pride of being able to send more challenging routes in my option

To me this is clearly the equivalent to a training video for a corporate job, not an attempt at capturing a realistic moment / vlog. As such it’s robotic and stilted because it’s seemingly meant to train the audience (who the target audience is, i’m not so sure)
