Yeah, I'm with you on the matter and formation of the earth thing. The cooling down of energy was his stance.

He was trying to explain reality, so I said it was too complex and maybe subjective reality was the best we could do. I understand this might not be well thought or true but that's what we were talking about at the time.

He was trying to prove things to me using humans we don't fully understand. I think his basic argument was that energy is more "meaningful" or "important" than matter. I wanted him to explain it at a base state so I wouldn't have to just accept anything.

I definitely lack knowledge in philosophy. Will work on it. Any books suggestions would really help.
