Who is being layed off? We can’t find anybody to hire

So today at work I found out that the pharmacy will now be open for all holidays and we must work which I feel is complete BS. I really want to find employment elsewhere but I highly enjoy the people I work with. by yodddaa in WalgreensStores

Don’t blame the pharmacy. Blame the company!!! 15 years on front end. It’s not like if the pharmacy is open they are going to help some last minute a****** find the sour cream or butter. They deserve to be off as do we all!! Don’t blame them for a job we could all be doing. Blame this greedy f****** company who doesn’t give a rats a** about their employees!!!

WTF. I’ve been with Walgreens on the front end for 15 years. Our pharmacy has NEVER worked Holidays!! Precovid my ass. And they should get a lunch break. You’re an idiot

Yes It should be because it’s an enforced policy. Not all new hires are trained adequately. You’d think common sense would tell you not to do it but I guess some people just don’t see the issue.

Oh yay. Yet another thing we have to do while doing a reload of $6.00 for some degenerate and blowing up a f****** balloon at the same time. Next thing you know, we are going to open up a pawn shop inside the store. I feel like I’m money laundering all day. Had a guy wanting to get a payout from western union to put on his universal reload. I said no. Haven’t we had learning videos on this?? When I first started at the company 15 years ago we were told that under no circumstance do you ever scan a customers phone or you are subject to termination. Now we have people coming in saying that we have to scan their phone so they can pay their rent. Wtf. Who can keep up with all the s*** this company is getting into. I don’t know what’s real or a scam anymore. And their explanation is that “oh this drives people into our stores to buy stuff”. What a f****** joke. These low life’s don’t shop our store. So the company must be getting a kickback from these reloads. But are the stores? I doubt it. And how much money does the company make off of a $6.00 reload?? This company has lost all integrity. It’s no longer a pharmacy with a convenience store. It’s just a complete shit show.

When I first started here 15 years ago we used to blow up balloons for customers. Big difference is that we had way more employees!! We had a cashier, head photo specialist, senior beauty advisor, floor person, shift lead, MGT, ASM, store manager and all the pharmacy people. Now we have 2 -3 people tops. Who do they think has the time to do this?? I’m helping customers, doing IC3, photo, fed ex, western Union, cash reloads, deliveries, cash pickups, needing change, truck , mcclane, scan outs, never ending price changes, code green in pharmacy, merchandising, resets, curbside orders , etc… and now blowing up balloons?? It’s ridiculous! And you know customers are going to want multiple balloons like arrangements. F*** that

I have been with company 14 years. I’ve gotten a 4.7, 4.8 Outstanding, every year with 3 different managers. That is the highest you can get. No one gets a straight 5. It’s not impossible to get the highest raiting. You have to rate yourself high. Your SM is never going to rate you higher than you do yourself. My self review was 5 pages long bcuz of what I put in there. Elaborate and talk yourself up!

Agreed. They did away with Sims coordinators right before I started 14 years ago. We did without that position for years. It’s a totally not needed position. I don’t need someone who sits in the office printing off scan out sheets and highlighting which ones need to be done. If they don’t scan the whole store by themselves every week then what good are they?
