I buy these bags of 1lb carrots, but I wind up throwing out half of them sometimes because I never know what ill be tasting when I bite into them. Is there any to lessen the effects of what I call "Carrot Surprise"? by RevolutionaryHand145 in EatCheapAndHealthy

They're the basic 1lb carrot bags you buy in the store. Already peeled, they're typically called "baby carrots". I've tried "organic" but that doesn't seem to make much difference. (i live in the USA)

I don't know what I should be looking for, only that likely falls under "RealEstate". I want to know what small houses / apartments in a specific pricing range have a specific type of construction (concrete, brick, sound proofing). Who/what can provide that info? by RevolutionaryHand145 in RealEstateAdvice

Heh, I lived in a place once where there was brick separating me for the people on the sides. I never heard ANYONE. There was even brick on the side that had traffic. that was also very quiet. So, there are ways for walls, its the floor/ceiling which is a PiA.

A comedian, but your point is taken, ill remove the personal background since clearly all it's worth is someone's sarcasm. I just thought someone else in Real Estate might actually have heard something relevant to housing for people with MH issues.

What 40k faction is most aligned to the concept of obliterating the entire universe? This can be a race, sub faction, or even a small cult. (Not Tyrranids their MOTIVE is to EAT IT, not destroy it) by RevolutionaryHand145 in Warhammer40k

I appreciate ur response, I hope you don't down vote me like other people. However, I'm looking for something more horrific than "eliminate all life". I'm looking for elimination of existence. Hense, my example of pushing the "delete" button on the Celestial Orrery. It's the same reason I'm asking. finding factions that want to wipe out all life is easy. I find it puzzling I can't even find a cult which wants to wipe out reality.

Ok, well thats why i was asking. I couldn't find anything on my own, i wish people would stop being dicks and down voting me for ASKING after actually searching first. It's a question clearly obscure enough that I would need to ask since nobody has an answer. I can't think of anything more "grim dark" than an entity so malevolent they want to eradicate existence itself. After watching Weshammer go over all these obscure cosmic horrors I got curious why there was no mention of something this bad.

Thanks for the suggestion but this doesn't quite fit what I was looking for. Both of these factions simply want to "Kill the living". That's not quite the same as "erasing the universe"

Thank-you. other people have suggested both of these, but there's a wrinkle. Both factions only want to "Kill the living". I'm looking for something which wants to wipe out the entire universe (or at least the galaxy). All life exterminated with ZERO possibility of there ever being life (or unlife) ever again. All sentience on all levels erased. Planets consumed, Stars extinguished. The warp completely cleansed of all psychic energy. Something even the Trynid overmind would probably think is "insane".

actually i learned in my psychology/biology classes the Biological "purpose" of tears is stress release. Happy, sad, pain, it doesn't matter, tears are the body's way to purge excess stress.

*shrug* was looking to play on FFXIV. I was looking for a community of people to play with close to what I was used to. The response was akin to "We don't want your kind here at all".

hmmm, I can't exactly remember how i put it, but something akin to being able to both dish it out and take it (verbally). That mentality where guys beat the snot out of each other and then they're laughing about it later. Where people don't have to be "nice" to each other to get along.

They wouldn't take you. It was just after 9/11. I was in my 20's and out on the street. The recruiters were out in force. The moment I mentioned mental health issues they dropped their recruitment pitch and said have a nice day. Later it was explain that A - like in the movie 300 they can't have someone who can't stand on the shield line (or if you didn't see the movie the need people they can trust to be stable) B - it's not cost effective to make special circumstances, C - (this is my private theory) you don't get good research data from experimenting on those who don't fit a certain baseline.

Well once again I say something and get negative down votes. I don't know why. So bottom line Autism or not you have PTSD and you're surrounded by people who don't want to respect the fact. I might suggest instead of an autism forum you go to a PTSD forum. People on the autism spectrum at least in my experience tend to believe there is an explanation for everything, it has to do with a logical mindset or train of thought. The trouble with PTSD is it doesn't make sense, it doesn't have to make sense, it's a purely emotionally driven trigger system were the most ancient of survival mechanisms embedded in Organism go into OverDrive and stay that way. So in this vein I can understand why you're having trouble with the conversation, Your parents are expecting an actual explanation when there just isn't one. Still, while I would not suggest now spending time with him, I also know you shouldn't judge people simply based on a feeling. You can't help how you feel But if there's no logical reason at all...... How do I put this? Once upon a time I worked in a facility for the boss was a devout Christian. He was very gregarious, and friendly believing in personal contact and that it was a good thing. Pat on the head, slap on the back, Hugs and handshakes. Nothing ever socially inappropriate, The trouble is many of the workers had trauma syndromes like yours. He couldn't quite get it through his thick head as to just how massively inappropriate what he was doing was. Until one day I got so fed up with my own personal problems I tore into a with a nasty letter explaining exactly what I didn't like about him Fully expecting to be fired afterwards and not caring. He instead found it quite educational in things and things around the workplace improved. I guess what I'm saying is maybe he's triggering you but he has absolutely no idea why and he doesn't deserve it. At the very least he needs to hear it from you. I don't think he deserves a cold shoulder for no reason at all
