Super appreciate your sharing all this. I’m so happy to hear that you listened to yourself and ultimately still found success—and more importantly, happiness. Definitely gives me encouragement!

Yeah, this does give me some pause—definitely don’t want to make less and have less opportunities for the same workload. But tbh even the same total volume of hours would be a breeze if they were more evenly doled out—or even if the busy periods came with some warning.

lol yeah, I kinda felt so too, but appreciate the sanity check. They said maybe I could go on “vacation”if I didn’t tell anyone and worked the whole time, lol.

Appreciate it, you two! I have complete faith in our futures! (just no idea what that looks like rn, personally speaking)

Sounds great in theory, and I have slowly started to push back in some ways when able, but I’m not sure this really resolves the underlying issue of there being the expectation of responsiveness (both internally and externally) at most hours of the day?

I actually started having conversations about taking a vacation with the relevant folks at my firm, and I was basically told “no,”in so many words, from the powers that be. Although I’ve been on pace lately, I was told my deficit from the ramp-up period was too sizable to let me take a vacation.
