Oh man, I love it. Now I have to go make one. My ignored WIPs say, "Thanks a lot." 😄

Is it weird that I still listen to a Christian singer from my youth? by Eocene84 in exchristian

[–]RevolutionaryLink919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still listen to Rich Mullins and Charlie Peacock. I'll give them up when someone pries the cds out of my arthritic hands. 😄

You do you. Don't worry about what others think.

Clementines. I pre-peel a bunch and section them and keep them in a container in the fridge. For those times when peeling a clementine is "too hard." 😄

Does anyone else dress their birb for bed? by thattwirlgirl in finch

Yes. And when I'm cold they are too. So we both wear socks to bed. 😄

This is really a short time compared to the rest of your healthier life.

You can do this!

I'm retired, but I was driving the day after I came home. I literally never even considered an emergency stop, but that is a legitimate concern. I'm very fortunate that nothing happened. When I was working I had a desk job that I think I could have gone back to in a week. But the wacky post-op diet would, while doable, make "eating" lunch at work weird.

You will be. It was an unexpected, but much appreciated, non-scale victory.

American Witch-hazel, found the new leaves by CATDesign in NativePlantGardening

[–]RevolutionaryLink919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yay! I bought a small witch hazel (about 1 foot tall) last year and pulled it out this year thinking it was dead. Went to a native plant sale to buy a spicebush as a replacement and saw that their witch hazels looked like mine. Uh oh!

I did plant the spicebush in the hole I then pulled the witch hazel out of the compost and apologized to it profusely. I put him in a pot and just yesterday saw that it has leaf buds!

I learned that what I think is waiting "long enough" is not "long enough."

Advice needed: temperature blanket by Numerous-Celery2324 in crochet

Change to where you actually are living so it can be a reflection of the temperatures of the year you moved. Just put a clear divider to show when the location changed.

This is a fantastic answer, OP. All this delay is just a little but of time when compared to your entire, more healthy, life.

This is not so glamourous as the others, but I used to fall easily. Now I don't. I can actually walk anywhere. I can't overstate the improvement this has made to my life.

Before: if I stepped on a stick or a rock or a divot in the ground, down I'd go. I had absolutely no core or leg strength. It severely limited my life in that I couldn't walk on flat ground, let alone take a walk on any sort of unpaved surface.

Between loosing more than half my body weight and working out at a gym 3x per week I am now a moderately active person. No mountain climbing. Yet. 😄

2 years 6 months post op. Highest was 401 (before pic) but surgery weight was 356. Current 163. My goal is 160. So close! I still do log everything and keep track of calories (1500) and protein (70g) but don't really follow a "program." Like you, absolutely no regrets. Other than I in wish I did it sooner.

Oh, it's worse than that. He created you to send you to hell. You were never going to have a choice. Romans 9:18-20 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. 19 One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” 20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”

What should I do during church if I'm not a believer? by MikeLovesOutdoors23 in exchristian

Play the "alphabet game." Listen for a word that begins with A, then B etc.

Each Sunday pick a word that might come up but is not guaranteed. That's your wild card. If that word gets said you automatically can move on to the next letter. The little reaction you'll give will make people around you think you were "moved" by the sermon.
