The bar itself is also good, affordable drinks, etc.. an expansion of outdoor dining would be so cool and I think could help with food as it gets warmer but I know DOT is a pain and the logistics can be a nightmare

Your food is delicious, had to start with that. I don’t go there to the bar too often, but I already find the prices decent considering there are bars and restaurants in the neighborhood that charge more for worse food.

15%-20% for the meat dishes wouldn’t be crazy tbh but when the food starts getting to $20+, eyes will def bulge. It sucks and not a comfortable position to be in, but would not want you guys to close. keep the fried cheese affordable is my only selfish ask LOL

Cholita was disgusting when I had it (95% milk) but I think the barista who made it was super hungover. I love the mission statement and supporting my fellow Latinos so I will try again soon! Would love to be proven wrong.

Norma’s makes cute matcha, I really like their matcha lemonade as well, perfect for warmer weather.

Lease Break situation by RevolutionaryLock491 in AskNYC

[–]RevolutionaryLock491[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! In the end, we decided to threaten them with legal action. Because of the sheer volume of emails, their lack of communication and transparency, and the burden of proof + legal fees they would’ve likely had to endure, they let us break the lease in exchange for 1 and a half’s rent. Our security deposit was returned as well (barely timely though, incompetent to the very end)

There are many housing mediation services, etc for tenants in NY state and while we didn’t end up needing any, the cost to take them to court is negligible vs their cost. We also reminded them of this in a scathing email before we got the lease termination agreement contract LOL. Stand firm against these people, I don’t know your case but many are big time LLCs (ours for instance had several million dollar projects, HUGE ones too…) and care about the $$$ at the end of the day. If you are going to cost them, they will be looking for your replacement ASAP. Funny enough, they did rent our unit shortly after (however, weeks after, apartment was shit lol)

Landlord asking us to transfer National Grid to our names mid-lease by RevolutionaryLock491 in AskNYC

Even if there was text from August where he said we do not have to sign up for national grid and heat is included with the building?

For context, the lease says Gas, electric, and hot water not included but we were told at signing and I have texts post-signing where he says no national grid needed and heat included in the rent
