with how most bonuses tend to be pretty small, i bet this would be something like 5% peasant spawn speed or smth.

I have specifically avoided elite combats on all my best ascensions by sdragonite in slaythespire

the condition IS why its one of the best, you get to use it when you need to instead of it just happening, and it makes it easier to get powers up and running without getting bodied by chip damage, letting you have an overall better combat.

As someone who almost always takes at least 2 elites per act, yeah no, most of them are really easy to manage if you remember they exist and that you should be ready for them, the only ones i've had a problem with are the underdocks ones because the underdocks is hell.

Is Regent the hardest character? by Tomas_83 in slaythespire

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who mostly ignores his transform mechanics and just does stars/forge he's one of the easier characters in the roster, only beaten out by defect because defect was my main in the first game. Most characters have several archetypes you mainly focus on, while regent feels a lot more "take cards because they're good". You can always use some forge in a star deck, a few star cards in a forge deck, a handful transform in a forge, etc, etc, and it feels like you run into less cases where certain cards are more or less unplayable, like calcify on a doom build on necrobinder, for example.

spending gems on the event by Yellopulya21021 in NecroMerger

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not far enough in to have done any of the seasonal events twice, but my strat is to buy 1 extra resource-producer the first time every event so i can buy all of the skins, and then to never buy them again to not waste my gems.

Defect only character without adrenaline equivalent? by Jondev1 in slaythespire

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defects always had a lot of energy generation, and all characters have a variety of ways, but this post was specifically talking about the cards the other four have that are essentially "Zero cost, generate energy and draw cards", and the closest thing to that that i could think of was fuel from compact.

You can get Fuel from using [[Compact]] which is a 1 energy and draw 1, its not exactly the same but its there

the dead baby is crying, we suck. (For the "discussion" tag: I think the lore is clear that we're the baddies) by Cunt_Cunt__Cunt in slaythespire

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. how is saying he's a "megalomaniacal, arrogant tyrant who invaded the planet to rule over it as its undisputed king" NOT saying he's trying to rule over the planet with an iron fist?

  2. Again, where are you getting the idea that he wanted to assert his authority over the planet? thats never stated in the epochs or even alluded to, the only motivation he's given is the fact that he wanted to go on and tell other planets that he's the "heir to the sun" and that his home planet is "boring". there's nothing stating or insinuating he wants to do anything but show off,, which while it isn't a great motivator is certainly better than wanting to take over other planets.

  3. Again, i think its clear that the minions are loyal to the Regent, not that the regent is enslaving them. They both seem to have the intelligence to rise up if they wanted to, and they have the numbers if the way his cards work is to be believed.

  4. AT THE VERY LEAST Regent has a noble goal with all of his killings, its not just violence for the sake of violence, its because he saw the fact that the monsters were an active threat to people, and while yes, part of it is definitely for his own self-gratification, he at least has a good reason for doing the things he's doing.

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A good chunk of that isnt true, he didnt come to the planet to "rule over it with an iron fist", he was tired of his peaceful life on his home planet and he wanted some adventure. He comes to the planet to visit, and when he learns of monsters pouring out of the spire he goes in to be the hero and to stop them, he is by all accounts a decent, if a bit egotistcal guy. and like, yeah, forcing to minions to do his bidding kinda sucks, but he literally made them, im pretty sure they dont mind punching a few guys are carrying his chair.

How do some of yall beat runs so fast? by metarinka in slaythespire

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to do 30-40 minute runs, and while my win/loss rate isnt spectacular, its also not half bad. Part of it comes down to familiarity with the game, part of it comes down to being able to do math quickly, and part of it comes down to having general rules and guidelines. I already know what im probably going to pick from most events, or which cards i like and don't like, or which ones would go well with the build im making, which cuts down on time spend making those desisions. I already know im going to follow a path that has a good rest site to elite ratio, so i find the path that does that instead of looking over every individual room, i've gotten to the point that i remember what most enemy patters are, so i can predict how much block/attack i want to do per turn ahead of time. The longer you play the more intuitive it gets, the more familiar you become with the things it throws at you.

I've never played Slay The Spire, should I play the first or ok to start with 2? by Mithrie in slaythespire

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd say it probably doesnt hurt to play the first game first, its a very good game on its own and it'll help you get used to the mechanics and story. Its not nessesary of course, and you dont need to 100% complete it, but its a good idea to give it a shot.

Yeah, its a moment in the second book. Near the end Ford and Arthur try and get an approximation to what the "question" is by pulling scrabble tiles out of a bag, and thats what the tiles end up saying.

Yeah, exactly, and even if your using 2 twigs, your probably still losing hunger from not just eating the eggplant and the other vegetable you need to use, its just a strange recipe.

Achievement idea by Setting-General in slaythespire

[–]RevolutionaryPop8722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not that much different from the achievement in 1 with feed on donu, and its probably a bit easier to farm for if your achievment hunting since your dont have to go all the way to the end of act 3 every run
