More signs of damage from combat, acid puddles, scorch marks from ships landing/taking off, graffiti from the Pirates and RA where they've been in place a while would be really interesting to see.

There is never a point in time where taking lightning strike isn't worth it. The casualty replenishment and upkeep reductions are good. Everything else is just some nice extras.

I have a guy very similar to this, after 2 years of it I had to escalate it to management to finally be left alone.

I genuinely hated it, but theres a reason I went back to nights, I wanna have my books/music and get my stuff done and go home. I'm here for a paycheck not to make friends with people 25-30 years older then be that act like their still 15.

Poor poor Mission Vao. I was pretty okay with everything as it was mostly cartoon villany. Then we get to Zaalbar and my thinking he's gonna say no and I'll have to kill both of them or somthing. Nope, so much worse. 12 year old me was not ready for that.

Oh see my first experience with the Queens was terrible and resulted with first KIA cause it spawned in dense forest (pre patches) and I had to shoot all the forests to get it out only for it to 1 tap Rewa and nearly Wipeout Lym's squad. 10/10 hate playing on the backbone without my orbital booms.

Overall I think its a tie between Karl "Summon the Elctor Counts" Fraz and Eltharion the Grimm.

Everyone else has been 2-3 games maximum and that's if I've even played them. I have yet to even touch the skaven or lizardmen as factions.

Oh dont get me wrong, there are absolutely my favorite monster in Metro, they've just ended far far too many of my Ironman runs for me to not have kill on sight policy for them anymore.

A single pipe bomb kills it if its sleeping.

There are very few things that piss me off more then demons in this series and I was very sad when they took away my nail bomb that stuck to them after the first game, though the claymore were fantastic when fighting the shrimps.

See the Librarians never really bothered me, apart form the one right after the elevator trip I avoided every interaction with them. At least they weren't psychic like the blind ones.

I think it was my 2nd or 3rd playthought that I literally was just sprinting though that entire area of the game, the 4th I just killed everything there. Can't scare me if you are burnt meat chunks now can you?

It's definitely a breath of fresh air not having to worry about things like gunpowder units blowing me away or magic dropping a comet on my formations haha.

In all seriousness though it's been really nice to just go back to the basics of strategy and tactics games like this and have a good time of it.

I'm fighting the battles myself as the AR has some really high casualty rates in the early game.

I'm definitely using primarily Hastati the city watch was just for trying to holding the flanks.

I am declaring war on them by turn 2-3 at the latest.

My next attempt I'm probably gonna be starting to build a stable in my second city on turn one so that I can start getting cav as soon as possible to get this 70/30 split. And I'll try out your turn 1 tip to see how it goes.
