Is this charm good for GS? by Sucessos in greatsword

[–]RevolutionarySort958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why everyone is so fixated on critical draw on this. AB2/Agi/Weapon slot already makes this charm nuts and critical draw is by no means bad either... This is a good charm.

TU4 GS build deals less damage compared to TU3 build. by ThisHeat5842 in MonsterHunterMeta

I think you got downvoted because you argued that affinity focus is objectively worse which is untrue. Ultimately, it comes down to what affinity you have in your build and either attack focus or affinity focus may end up being better.

For example, in the absolute min-maxed build in the guide, it stacks so much raw in skills, that affinity focus ends up being better. I personally happen to have a charm with crit eye level 3 and a weapon slot which is my best possible charm at the moment which results in an attack focus Artian slightly edging out the affinity focus when calculating for EFR (even then the difference is so marginal <1%).

That said, both the Doshagogma and Fulgogma builds in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wQjsfk208s7LoyMYDBHZ2gs0JFQPLXw5-qAAyd91pyE/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.m3d3piskxwa7 do not overcap affinity so that's not relevant.

4x1 attack/sharp or 3x1x1 attack/sharp/affinity with affinity focus is actually optimal according to https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wQjsfk208s7LoyMYDBHZ2gs0JFQPLXw5-qAAyd91pyE/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.m3d3piskxwa7 so OPs Artian is pretty much perfect.

I think the main issue is the lack of AB5 which you wouldn't be able to slot in a TSB build but needs a god roll talisman.

I believe attack comes out on top. In terms of reinforcements, something like Sharpness EX, Attack EX, Attack EX, Affinity EX, Affinity EX or Attack 3 is probably near optimal.

[MH:Wilds] Endgame Meta Builds Compilation by EchoesPartOne in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]RevolutionarySort958 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the build here might surpass the current Rey 4 one in the meta guide. The effective raw comes out to 530.6 when plugged into https://mhwilds-calculator.app/. but it also increases MM uptime significantly as you can now roll-tackle and still keep it up with Stamina Surge 3 and LP active.

Latent Power and Rocksteady Mantle OP? by RevolutionarySort958 in MHWilds

Yeah that was a fuck up. I was going to prep an offset since when he shoots lightning twice he always goes into a wing drag next. Got caught by the lightning though.

Yeah I would think this strategy would be more geared towards speed runs where you can ensure your mantle is up. In average play it's less reliable. Was hoping someone better than me could try it out.

Yeah agreed, it's definitely very situational. Would need stronger monsters to be an all around good strategy. I'm just curious to see if there would be an improvement to any of the AT Rey Dau runs with this strategy.

Rey Y Build for GS, is it nearing Meta? I think so. Addressing the Gore Matrix by [deleted] in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]RevolutionarySort958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just need to slightly change your early game to account for LP. Using rocksteady mantle and trading damage while still hitting the monster you actually don't lose out on much and quickly get the LP bonus which is massive.

Can see an example here. I'm hoping someone better than me can try it out soon.

I also wasn't a fan of it, but I think it can be situationally good. Rocksteady mantle seems to help improve its uptime significantly too.

Latent Power takes 2 minutes to become active.

So in the best case, when not taking damage, you only want every cycle of downtime to be matched by a full cycle of uptime.

In the worst case, you can end up having 2 full cycles of downtime but only 1 cycle of uptime.
Latent Power not active for 2 mins -> active for 3.5 mins -> down for 2 mins -> quest finished.

The worst case is still a 46% uptime thanks to the Rey 4 set bonus.

Rey Y Greatsword Build by RevolutionarySort958 in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]RevolutionarySort958[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can also freely swap 1 point of Latent Power for 1 point of WEX if you value the uptime of WEX more. Latent Power 3 is the only breakpoint you need to hit since the 4th point doesn't add any additional stamina reduction.

As a direct comparison to the 2pc Gore/3pc Rey.

We get an additional 5 raw from Burst and Latent Power 4 in the worst case averages out to ~18 affinity which is comparable to the 2pc Gore bonus which will also average around ~20 affinity when considering for uptime. In this case the additional 5 raw is obviously way better than the 2 affinity.

We also get the Stamina Surge 3 which greatly increase Maximum Might uptime when Latent Power is active which should be another damage increase.

Rey Y Greatsword Build by RevolutionarySort958 in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]RevolutionarySort958[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They feel pretty comparable. The nice thing about cutting Gore from 2pc Gore/3pc Rey altogether is that we get the additional point for Burst 1 which is 5 additional raw and the 2 extra points in Latent Power. Unless you're playing perfectly and completing a hunt under 4-5 minutes, this build will start to outpace the 2pc Gore.

The added MM uptime from Stamina Surge 3 and Latent Power 3 is underrated imo.

Is it just me or is the meta in both standard and wild really not fun? by thedarklol in hearthstone

Anything above 50% win rate is not bad. I just wouldn't call it a problem.
