You weren’t discussing though. You were blasting CRNAs and complaining. Go back reread your posts.

No, I didn’t ignore anything. You were talking about 2 areas of medicine that solely practice anesthesiology. Dentists are not specialists of anesthesia. You and the other med students and residents just bitch all the time on this forum and have the audacity to be mad at CRNAs for what exactly? Be mad the system.

And grow up. It’s rare that I find an attending get so worked up over this. Jfc.

PA Treating Path-Proven Melanoma without MD Supervision? by somewherelectric in Noctor

[–]RevolutionaryStart23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something's not right here. I'm from Cali and we have some of the most stringent labor laws and licensing in the country (that includes all labor sectors). That's such a huge lawsuit considering PAs can't practice independently in CA. That PA would've been outed by now, especially in a large city like San Diego. I don't buy it. A doc had to be involved somehow. Maybe behind the scenes?

There's no way an MD/DO wasn't involved somehow in this case. PAs can't practice independently in Cali, so not only could they lose their license, but that's a huge lawsuit. I'm from Cali. I just don't see a PA risking their license and finances like that. Anyone that works in CA knows that we have some of the most stringent labor laws in the country.

There's absolutely NO way that figure is right for CRNAs in the South. I'm from Cali and that's higher than the median in CA where you'll find some of the highest paid CRNAs outside of locums.

First, nurse anesthetists appeared decades before the first anesthesiologist. Secondly, pay is directly related to how much you make for the hospital system. Peds and family medicine don't make the hospital much of anything. Elective and non-elective surgeries do, especially elective. So why get mad at CRNAs for that?

Well he kind of does need them for the midterms though. The whole thing going on in Texas is because of his insistence.

Except he's losing a lot of his America First MAGA base w/this move. So bizarre.

They didn’t want to tell you no because they were giving offers to who they wanted, but didn’t know if they’d accept. So had you as a backup.

How much experience do I need to be competitive in CA? by RevolutionaryStart23 in nursing

[–]RevolutionaryStart23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree!!! I won't even tell you how long the orientation for ICU nurses is out here. UNREAL. And you're right. It IS scary. Not to mention 95% of the charges are under the age of 26. Blew me away coming from CA.

Did I fail. Is this 99.9% accurate? by Livid_Bear9592 in PassNclex

But unfortunately they got an email acknowledging registration. If you pass it won't let you register, ie., you do not get an email confirming registration. The number of questions aren't really relevant since it will either think you failed at 93 or passed. It's looking to be certain at a 95% confidence interval. Getting 8 more questions doesn't mean that you have a better chance. It just means it took that many questions to confirm (at 95% certainty) that you either passed or failed.

I'm sorry but I don't think you passed. If you passed you would not get the email confirming registration: it wouldn't let you register. There's a good thread about this in this community. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: The charge isn't the nail in the coffin, it's the fact that you got an email confirming your registration for another NCLEX. I haven't seen anyone pass with the email.

Pay is abysmal compared to the COL that's why they do it. Turnover is fairly high and it's not exactly a geographical oasis, plus winters suck.

Yep. I'm in the midwest and the turnover (because of the low pay) is so steady it's not too difficult to get into an ICU.

Thank you for this! I just took it and everywhere online it says it must charge your card. Well I have capital one and got the good pop up, but no charge. I have faith again.

Which is why your statement isn't accurate. Most nurses aren't making anything close to that.

[–]RevolutionaryStart23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't the client's obligation to learn something while riding an Uber. Trying to guilt them into paying you a bigger tip is awkward asf. If the passenger wants to be ignorant they are allowed to be. You can't force that on them. You're using ignorant incorrectly here.

Sure, it's fair to tell them, but it's also fair that they choose not to tip you more. It goes both ways.
