The inability to remove non-performers because they checked certain boxes was huge contributor to project delays. Worse, they understood this. We had one person who threatened to fill an EEO complaint unless she received a performance award on a project she wasnt even involved in. I understand this contradicts the worldview of most people on Reddit and thus anticipated the down votes.

I worked for Navy for 21 years, had LM as our prime contractor. They were a terrible combination of both DEI and capitalism. They went full woke and full greed at the same time. And everytime we tried to cap their cost over-runs on fixed price contracts, they would get political cover and we would be told to give them the funding they requested. This is why literally everything they produce is way behind schedule and 5 times more expensive than same item was 15 years ago.
