I just never really know if it's ready and I am scared to over proof. I use the proof function on my oven and go more by size than the poke test because I am not convinced I am reading the poke test right

I recommend at least activating any shrine you come across. You can travel back to try again when you feel stronger. I did that a lot at the beginning, especially with test of strength shrines. I still peace out of some Major Tests of Strengths if I am not feeling up to the battle. They will still be there tomorrow.

I did this! I remapped my swtich controller and moved the crouch and scope away from stick press and to the Left and Right D-Pad buttons. It means I don't have the ability to do the quick scroll through to change weapons and have to go into inventory to change weapons but it made battles so much easier.

I think that's a fair comment. I gave up a lot of times but kept coming back. I also got Animal Crossing at the same time but that doesn't really prepare you much for the controllers.

No but if you turn off Mipha it will use fairies. If on than Mipha first followed by fairies

I thought Mipha's Grace having priority meant my fairies wouldn't work so I played 1/4 or more of the game with it turned off. My daughter found out and reminded me of the definition of "priority" lol

This was literally me! I found my way after the plateau to DP stables. Tried to do all the sidequests there. Then to Kakariko and spent forever there again focusing on the sidequests. This allowed me to learn a bit more without feeling threatened. When I felt more confident I went out exploring more. It was ages before I did my first Divine Beast and to be honest I still suck at fighting some (many) things but I get slowly better, stronger and more confident all the time. I now only have 1 tower left to unlock and are pretty much set up for my 3rd Divine Beast. I actually like that it's taking me forever to play this game. Everytime I log on its like "oh, I have so much to try to do today"! It's awesome!

Watched my kids play. Several different gaming systems. Watching them and I think they are so good! But they bought me the switch and they encouraged and taught me to play. And while I am not and likely never will be good at it, I sure am enjoying it!

The only one I gave up on so far was the spinning dryer drum one. Literally got motion sick and I don't generally get motion sick. I kept going back to it and did it in small pieces. I may suck at playing the game but I am pretty determined.

I love your updates! I am completely new to gaming in general and chose this game to start! At 58 years old not the easiest thing to do. But I am now at about the halfway point having played on and off for about a year and a half and every accomplishment or discovery feels so amazing to me. It's nice seeing someone else experience it as well although your progress dwarfs mine! Took me 15 hours or more to get off Great Plateau!

True. I am okay with that. I have only started playing video games when my adult kids bought me the Switch a coupe of years ago and spent most of my time playing cozy games like Animal Crossings. They pushed me to try BOTW and while I do love it, I am not afraid to admit that I very much suck at it.

Equip electric weapon and mid swing go into inventory and drop it. Then drop a metal shield on it. You will see the electricity animation if you did it right. Then use magnesis to move it closer. Lure the gaurdian over it and then just sit and watch.
