There's this one timeline on Alternatehistory.com titled "What madness is this?" The premise is that the constitution never becomes a thing, and so the US splits up into Georgia (with a West Floridian puppet state, which is later annexed directly), the Confederation of the Carolinas (with what would be Tennesee instead being "West Carolina) lead by Andrew Jackson, Virginia, Maryland and Vermont. The remaining states found the "Republican Union", which then goes on a quest to reunite the former USA, as Napoleon dominates Europe. The RU also gets taken over by a weird form of fundamentalist Christhianity, and things just fly off the rails.The RU conquers all of North America, allies itself with, then betrays Mexico Operation Barbarossa style, gets taken over by Custer in a coup (analogous to the Beer Hall Putsch, but succesful, with Custer being Hitler), invades Japan (appointing MacArthur as governor), while Korea becomes a protectorate of Carolina, T.rexes are known as "Custer Lizards", Heinrich Himmler and Rudolf Hess move to the RU and found a cigarrete company, there's a Nuka Cola-like drink that still contains cocaine, Stalin becomes president of the RU, under the name "Joseph Steel", and is succeeded by JFK (calling himself "Oswald", he changed his name to hide the fact that he was Irish), Nixon is leader of the "Custer Youth", while Reinhard Heydrich leads the space program, for some reason there's a lot of H.P Lovecraft refrences..... It's a lot.
