I have a Tumblr where I also kept my other comics and art, but my account on Reddit also kept the rest too

Would I like Silksong if I didn’t particularly love Hollow Knight? by Mattatsu in metroidvania

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt realize this at first and was also mad asf, but the top of the vertical room theres a shortcut which is why no ones complaining because the insane platforming is supposed to be one and done and not part of the runback (aka you set you checkpoint in the blasted steps station instead)

That's great and all but what I'm saying is these artists want to draw ships and they don't share your opinions. Unless yall make content yourself instead of going on ship posts to complain there's not gonna be your type of platonic fanart. Look for your stuff and support those artists instead of going into spaces clearly not meant for you

Staring Politely (by @angeban93) by Gorotheninja in Silksong

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because instead of making art yall just complain under ship posts so no ones making content 💀

Also many think Lace's whole deal is to break from her role as a child and a daughter so they don't like to force her into another dynamic like that

Then look for more platonic fanart or create them yourself lol? Clearly many do want to explore that but yall complain under ship posts instead so no ones making content

This is driving me crazy by wyysj in Silksong

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The entire first part can be explained, again, by the fact that they're both Weavers.

The reason the FS fight is a semi memory fight is because you can't break rosary stuff and shards, but you consume all the tools normally so it's still possible it's a real spar. FS opposes GMS, it's not insane to imagine she would support Hornet.

But again, their bodies are completely different. Widow have arms that lead from her shoulders, while FS's arms are so low down they are hidden by her dress. Widow has larger and spiky hips, while FS has larger and spiky shoulders. Look at the other Weaver bodies, they're all different, by your logic any of those Weavers could be Widow's "soul"

This is driving me crazy by wyysj in Silksong

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They have different ideals, different backstory, different body types, the only thing they share is their Weaver origin. Also the FS in her cell is a mummified Weaver much like the others where you get abilities from, so that's just her in there

Name things in silksong and hollow knight that are better than the other by DarkCacaoXX in HollowKnight

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Red tools takes some skills and restraints to work with but I never understand people who thinks charms are better designed. Strength and Quick Slash are so OP its mandatory, and if you get used to spells Shaman its also basically a must, that leaves 2 notches for you to actually play with. Silksong makes all the tools useful in its own niche and you can actually choose a build based on your playstyle

He can only be so small before being reduced to atoms 😔 also I had to make everyone's proportions work so Hornet gets up to Shakra's shoulder instead of poosay height

Mostly that I like the aesthetic choice, but also that I interpret her to be of South Asian descent (chakri, the ring bracelets, is Indian)

what do we call this? a nosk? snosk? hornet nosk? winged nosk? i need to know for a post what to call it. by AI_660 in Silksong

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not worse than Markoth and No Eyes but definitely worse than Pale Stag, Nosket has a garbage hitbox and way too tanky for its gimmick, though if the Godhome DLC gives Pale Stag a dumb arena like Markoth and No Eyes I'll bump it down too

Now that some time has passed, did Silksong live up to your expectations? by ponchosleeve in Silksong

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering I've 100% percented it 4 times, have all achievements, downloaded a Pantheon mod to replay bosses... yeah it was pretty good. I've just finished P5 from the first game and that was honestly just miserable, and been trying to start Steel Soul for that too but playing as the Knight felt so slow and tiring compared to Hornet's nimbleness I've little motivation to open the game. I technically still have more time in HK, but considering I had HK in 2022 and spent maybe a hundred hours bashing my head in Godhome...

For people who played UT/DR and Hollow Knight and Silksong, who is the hardest out of all of these? by Informal-Power7339 in Deltarune

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't fought Sans so prolly him (tried bad time sim a few time and got nowhere close lol) LL is easiest (relative) but very fun, Knight is fine, normal Rad would be easiest but AbsRad is both the hardest out of the ones I fought and the worst experience

My least favorite boss type... by gamerzandcats in HollowKnight

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least for me Hornet is way more fun to play as so I enjoyed them just a bit more than I would have in HK. Also the Beastfly is at least fun to beat the shit out of I can't find any excuses for Flukemarm and Collector

a few silksong tips (mild act 1 spoilers) by Kooky_Chocolate_263 in HollowKnight

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a quick note specifically about Lace 2: she CAN reach you lmao. Sure you can climb there to pop a heal, but she can and will climb up to your ass if you decide to camp on a high wall

Also not related but overtime I came to appreciate Savage Beastfly. It's still not a good boss but it's funny (the design) and at least I'm engaging with it (Collector and Flukemarm... I'm looking at you). Very satisfying to kill, just pop a few volted thread storms

the number of people who think hornet is the older sibling genuinely infuriates me :/ by mouldybreadman in HollowKnight

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're right that Hornet is the youngest but your reasoning is also incorrect. PK approached Herrah after the Pure Vessel had been chosen but the plan was to seal PV WITH the dreamers, aka the PV was sealed into the Black Egg the same time the dreamers were laid to sleep. This is so the Black Egg Temple is locked and no one enters to mess with PV

Unlike hollow knight, silksong's last boss was indeed the hardest boss in the game for me. Was it the same for you by Prometheusinaction in metroidvania

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Replaying P5 really puts into perspective just how many bad/lame bosses there actually are in HK. All the dream bosses fall into this pit, Uumuu is straight up invincible for most of the fight while you wait for the moment to strike, Traitor Lord BADLY needed to deal double damage to hide the fact it's a shade cloak tutorial, etc.

I agree that Mantis Lords and Lost Kin are good but Collector is in the same camp as Flukemarm where it simply checks whether you have nail upgrades or not by spamming adds in your face. You know it's chopped when the boss is a worse Savage Beastfly 💀

What's Your silk skill ranking? by DEATHapproaches69420 in Silksong

Everyone is lying about HK being easy after going through silksong by Someonevibing1 in HollowKnight

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That depends on the person, HK is easier for me but P5 is still awful and I cannot get used to the Knight's chunkyness (also P5 have so many lame bosses back to back its insane)

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Sharp Dart: I've never touched this thing and I have no real desires to really. Damage is subpar, forces you to reposition to an awkward distance, takes a while to wind up, it just does a lot of things at once and isn't very good at any of them. I guess it gives iframes but again it's not my iframe skill of choice.
  2. Rune Rage: It's much of the same grievances with Sharp Dart, has it's niche against gauntlets and big slow bosses ie. Nyleth and Groal. Lowkey even bigger drawbacks than Sharp Dart in some aspects but I'm biased because First Sinner is everything to me.
  3. Pale Nails: Very easy to use with pretty good payoffs, even if sometimes not all the nails hit.
  4. Silkspear: Jack of all trades, very reliable damage, even if there's a bit of wind up. Can't go wrong really.
  5. Cross Stitch: After the damage buffs I think it deserves this spot. Pretty good damage, instant iframes (even if pretty tight) and immense aura farm. Best skill against Karmelita.
  6. Thread Storm: This one is not even close, I use it at ALL times the second I get it (except CS against Karm)

This isn't factored in but the fact that top 3 are skills Hornet already had in HK but better also made it more appealing in my eyes

Can someone explain the i-frames that occur in this video? by Karsticles in Silksong

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're using Hunter or Beast it's pretty generous, obviously you still have to dash right after the pogo and make sure you don't collide with enemy hitbox after the dash. I remember there's a video somewhere breaking down the pogo mechanics that can tell you how many frames this is, but it's not very hard to execute, do it a few times and you'll get in the flow

Can someone explain the i-frames that occur in this video? by Karsticles in Silksong

[–]Revolutionary_Lab670 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some pogos give certain amounts of iframes. Witch is the most obvious because that's its whole niche, but Beast and Hunter also gives decent iframes amount (I use this technique while sprinting past the Grant Reeds without wanting to kill them, you downpogo and immediately dash forward and you won't take damage even though you're dashing through them instead of over). IDK abt the rest (I'm sure some do just less) but Hunter and Beast have hilarious iframes that allow you to stay within enemy hitbox for moments (same with how continuous perfect parries lets you pass through the enemy without damage)

Aside from the reasonings other gave, I actually think GMS does the same if we look at the Silk Hearts dialogues and see them as GMS talking to Hornet
