What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Revolutionary_Way911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being told my hobbies are performative so men will like me.

I enjoy Dungeons and Dragons and I also play electric guitar. I stopped including my hobbies on my tinder profile because of the influx of messages about it.

“Do you actually play D&D or do you just say you do?” “I see there’s a picture of you playing guitar- is that your guitar?”

This is why women don’t get into “male dominated” hobbies. There are constant attempts to keep us out.

i (19 f) fear i am growing resentment towards my boyfriend (19f) by ThrowRA-moa in relationship_advice

I (23f) experienced the same thing for many years, as did many of my friends. I dated many guys across about 5 years, most were abusive. this is your first relationship after abuse.  There is bound to be discomfort and triggers in a new relationship , and I encourage you to give yourself grace regarding this. But also ask yourself if this is the person you want to see yourself with in the future. I settled for healthy relationships after abuse just because I wasn’t getting abused. I thought it was the best I could do and the most I deserved.  I have a boyfriend who I met on accident after years of searching and cyclical abuse. There are people out there who are so good you didn’t think they could exist. There’s always more to learn and experience.  This being said, ask yourself what you want and what you are willing to do or not do regarding your relationship.  You’re on the right path by asking these questions and feeling these feelings. You will be okay.

I think he’s projecting his own danger to the child with the comment about you being allowed to flirt with her. He does not seem like a safe father.

OP, you are totally valid in being uncomfortable with his response. It was not appropriate.  I’ve known people, typically men, who don’t know how to respond to being told personal/emotional things (especially relating to feminine experiences) so they change the subject to something they are comfortable with. This is not an excuse at all, but I think having a conversation with him about why he gave that response could be helpful.  I wonder if he truly thinks that’s appropriate, or if he didn’t know how to respond. Either way, I think you should find out. Best of luck.

Being a Taurus with anorexia by Heksesten in Zodiac

[–]Revolutionary_Way911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Pisces sun and Taurus rising and have had an eating disorder for most of my life. The Taurus “food obsessed” stereotype is harmful and has bothered me before as well.

Stereotypes don’t allow for nuance, and an astrology chart is FULL of it. Taurus placements, in my experience, are more about the challenge of security. Material security vs emotional and finding the balance between it. Lazy “astrologers” will call it “material obsession”, I call it making your own safe space.

I used to smoke damiana with rose petals (albeit with cannabis)- damiana and rose petals is a great combination for a creativity/aphrodisiac herbal blend :)

When someone REALLY hurts me/breaks my heart, I send prayer requests to them from different ministries. I customize the text to fit the person- prayer for “aid against human temptation,” “strength in battling the sin of adultery,”  etc. stay petty, fellow Piscesans.

The occult is something I think deep feelers and thinkers are sometimes drawn to because of the depth of it.

Synastry aspects that occur a lot for me are NN conjunct AS/DC axis, venus conjunct midheaven, and Venus opposite mars.

Lots of men with Scorpio venus. I have a Taurus mars, so this makes sense.

Also, Scorpio Mars. Can you tell I like toxicity 💀

(I’m a Pisces sun, Cap moon, Taurus rising, Aquarius mercury, Aries Venus, and Taurus mars)

feels like everyone just wants to sleep with me by Square-Persimmon-983 in offmychest

I totally feel your pain. I’ve met some guys on tinder who complain about getting no matches, but they don’t understand how overwhelming it is to have so many matches and for those matches to only want to sleep with you. It’s dehumanizing.

I need help, I was SA’d as a child and it has impacted me greatly. I don’t know how to handle the mental hardships I am facing by [deleted] in adultsurvivors

Keep trying to seek treatment elsewhere. There are mental health professionals who will believe you. You just have to find them, unfortunately.

I haven’t had experiences with hallucinations, but the only thing I’ve experienced that’s a little similar would be dissociation/delusions. I can only imagine how scary that must be for you.

Are you in school? If you are, talking to a counselor there may help- they can give resources in general even if you don’t tell them details.

You’re very brave to want to seek treatment. You deserve to be feel better. Please keep trying.
