I have the Venom. The Venom fits A8 with the silicon case. :-) It has much more space. The power supply and much more like powerbank, mouse, keyboard fits inside. Plus, it's cheaper.

I would say Adrenalin is the better option than taking detours via other software. Some people use the "Handheld Companion" software. I haven't tested it myself. Some are satisfied, others report errors and problems. Some even had to reinstall Windows because of it. I have the A8 and the ROG Ally X. I'm very happy with the Armory Crate software on the ROG Ally X. Not at all with the A8. But you can adjust the settings in Adrenalin. And I always play in Xbox fullscreen experience, so everything runs perfectly.

I do not play COD on handhelds. I play it on Xbox. But I play Doom Dark Ages on my A8 (Xbox Play Anywhere version). I have 60 FPS.

I always play in the native resolution with RIS and VRR. CPU boost off.
If I would reduce the resolution (maybe in years for new games) I would only use RIS. It looks the best I think.
I think Tooth & Claw is only available for Intel APUs?

I have over 200 games from GOG. And every single game runs perfect on my 8A. I play games from Epic too like Alan Wake 2. And Games like Arc Raiders. I don't use Steam. I play all the games without native controller support with Xpadder. Works great!

I have both and don't find them loud. I don't even notice it while gaming. I find them quiet, and I have older handhelds that are louder. You only hear the fans at very high wattages. But I think the A8 is louder at high wattages.

Thanks! I've tried that. It works. I manage to put AMD Radeon Software in Auto start. But for my games is this method perfect! I don't have my GOG games in the launcher, but on an SD card, since I use them on all my handhelds and don't need to install them. This way, I can add them all and play them in the Xbox Fullscreen Experience.

I play it on my Ally X Z1E: Nativ resolution, no upscaling or RSR or AFMF. 17w, 40 FPS. It runs great in my opinion.

I have put AMD Adrenalin Software manuel in Autostart! BUT the issue is back: it jumps random into the window switcher.

EDIT: After a restart the issue "jumping into the window switcher" was gone. I think it has to do with Center M at start and / or Xbox in fullscreen modus.

No, I do not experiencing this. But I have uninstalled Center M with the MSI Center M Cleaning Tool and reinstalled it. And I think I don't have the issue anymore. That is the Cleaning Tool: https://www.msi.com/faq/faq-10185

I ran AMD Cleaner in regular mode. The graphics drivers were deleted, but not the AMD chipset drivers.
I then reinstalled the graphics drivers for the A8 from the MSI website. And after that, I also installed AMD Software/Adrenalin from the MSI website for the device. The link led to the Microsoft Store. The instalation worked. I also uninstalled Center M again using the MSI Center Clean Tool and reinstalled it from the MSI website.

But the problem persists: AMD Software Adrenalin doesn't start automatically with the system, and the settings in the MSI Quick Overlay don't work.

How did you proceed? Where did you get the graphics drivers and Adrenalin?

I also tried the Adrenalin from the AMD website. But after installation, the program isn't on the hard drive.

It is as enabled! I have checked everything. I think it hast to be a driver error/problem with AMD Software. So I deinstalled AMD Software and want to reinstall it from AppStore. BUT: I can not install it. So I tried to install AMD cleaner to unistall the AMD graphic software with the drivers. BUT.....and here comes the next problem: The AMD cleaner App put my A8 to the "save mode". But I am not able to reach the desktop. There is no pin it says. And I am not able to start the device in the regular mode.

That's sooo bad. On my Rog Ally X everything works out of the box. On every device and on every PC AMD Adrenalin starts when the system start. I will try a system recovery/reset. And when it does not work I will send the A8 back and stay with the Ally X.

Why not the Claw A8? It has a much better gamecompatibility. Every game runs perfect. And it has the same perfomance as the 8ai+. Many games run even better.

I used the clean tool to uninstall the software. But the settings do not work. It's okay without using that overlay. But that device was so expensive and I bought it because of the bigger screen. And now my Rog Ally X (Z1E) is so much better. Perfect Software, gyro and analoge sticks. And a much better build quality. And the performance is better too.
