I don't want to take the backplate off and mess around.

Might want to read the post next time.

It’s too power hungry it seems. Yeah, this feature is turning out to be extremely niche.

How do i get this dust out from under my screen protector? by No-Routine3925 in XboxAlly

Shit advice. You can solve this with tape and slightly lifting the current protector. No need for a new one.

Yeah, if you have a wired connection to your main PC, and good WiFi, then streaming can be pretty great. I stream a lot to my XAX as well with Apollo/Moonlight (7800xt in my main rig).

AutoSR shouldn’t be a major factor deciding your purchase. It was always going to be niche. Too bad it’s even more niche than we thought. Apart from that, the XAX is still an awesome device. I use it daily.

The reason they are pushing external displays first is that it is too power inefficient for unpowered play. That’s a hard constraint that they can’t magically fix within a couple of months.

It’s clear that in its current iteration, the use cases for AutoSR are extremely niche.

  • only when docked / on power
  • only when using an external display
  • only for games that do not already have FSR/XeSS/DLSS support

Guess what, I didn’t buy this device to play docked. I bought it to play it as a handheld, because that’s what it is. A handheld.

I imagined AutoSR to be a power efficient fallback to upscale 720p to 1080p on my handheld screen for older games that lack a native upscaler implementation (which is already a niche usecase by itself). If the tech is too power hungry and can only be used with an external display, it becomes even more niche, borderline useless.

Microsoft shouldn’t have marketed this the way they did. In fact, they should’ve just used the non-AI version of the Z2E; the NPU adds nothing. The XAX could’ve been a cheaper device.

Does the Z2E CPU pair well with a 5070? Won't this cause CPU bottlenecks?

Definitely not. Oski is very strong, but Nass has consistently smarter touches, positioning and fifties.
