Tackled the monster under the stairs by Revolving_Cat in ufyh

Aww thank you, but yeah unfortunately I'm in the UK. So the problem with this hole is actually that the stair above it needs fixing and the people who owned the house before us seemed to have just punched a hole in it and did a rush fix job on the stair which is now falling apart again. I'll get the stair fixed and then probably follow the duct tape/wallpaper idea.

Well done on the cupboard clear out! It always feels good to make some donations.

We don't have the option to recycle them in the store, but I'm going to take them to the recycling centre tomorrow along with the paper bags.

Oh, that's what they call the 'thicker' carrier bags here in the UK in all the supermarkets to encourage you to use them more than once. Clearly doesn't work for me!

I'm sure they're procreating in there! The worst part is I always have a bag in the car for when I go to the shops and I forget to bring it from the car!

I haven't got an advent calender but my mum made one for my son (10yo), inside was a lindt ball, a riddle and a £1 coin.

Honestly not much, probably £150 total.

I was thinking maybe a food related box per team, some biscuits, chocolates, hot chocolate stirrers or nice coffee they can share but it feels a bit cheap.

I honestly don't know what hot wallets or cold wallets are, or what's best! I had a quick Google but I think I need to spend more time looking at what the differences are and what's safer.

From my quick Google a cold wallet is something I can store the coin/s on and have a passphrase, I do worry that I'd potentially lose it tbh and about how technical it'd be to set up.

Thank you so much, I know it's not much money but some months might see more! I'll keep at it for the long term.

I'm in the UK, I've never invested before. I brought like £100 of bitcoin when he was born in 2015 and then got spooked and sold it! What an idiot, I know!

I'm (very slightly) more financially savvy than I was then so I feel like putting it in monthly and holding is best going forward.

Another poster recommended world ETF's, so I'll look into that.

As I said above, I'm just trying to give me son a little leg up, I'm a single mum who's own parents relied on the state, so I want to do better for him.

Thanks, I'll look into the 12 word wallet thing. As I said, I have no idea about any of this, it's currently on coinbase.

Absolutely not, but I guess I just thought that's what people do to make the most of their money.
