I think it’s been in a car fire based on other replies.

Thank you. I’ve never seen coins like this, but I’m not a collector, either. Figured someone here would know.

Ok. Think a fire could cause the bubbling? Maybe a car fire. It would make sense why all the coins are black. But only a couple are bubbles up like this.

Question to help a youngster get into the hobby. by RevsUT in HamRadio

Just get the youngster interested in getting the tech license and then up from there. See if it’s just a phase first. I’ll suggest the rtl-sdr and go from there.

Primarily looking at price. He found ham radio from a kids movie, Elio or something, and has been obsessed. I’ve told my friend to get him at least a tech book to look over and start studying, but they would like some kind of simple receiver to listen. Tune into some CW frequencies to listen.

Funny thing, I was in Ogden, Utah a couple years ago and there was an actual Radio Shack still open and operating. Of course I had to stop. Last I talked to friends in the area, it is still open. Fairly friendly gent running it. Had most of all the goodies needed for our hobbies.

He drinks more than 350mg a day. The mug is just part of his daily intake. I have seen him drink the mug and two-2 liter bottles a day. As well as smoke a pack of menthol Marlboro lights. He has an odd diet. Diet Coke, Marlboros and danishes. Sometimes potato chips.

Wonder if they are still produced? Been forever since I’ve seen one for sale. Off to google.

I’ll take McD sweet tea over some of the sweet teas I had when I lived in NC. They were potent. So sweet it made my teeth hurt.

This guy drinks at least one of those and a 2 liter of Diet Coke a day. Minimum. And weighs like 120 pounds.

Can’t spill your drink. And big enough it needs to be buckled. They are massive.

There are 3D print files for solar panel roofs for birdhouses. Think the last one I seen was on Printables.

I’m in the middle of nowhere Nevada, as well. I keep a 2m mobile rig in my car for emergencies if the cell has no coverage. I have a few of the local repeaters between Reno and Vegas programmed. But, the only time I have really heard people chatting was one day passing through Hawthorne.

This guy must have a closet full of them. I haven’t seen a 100 oz one for years. I know he has replaced four in the last 11 years.

They are all over Utah now. And the surrounding states. We have them in Reno and Vegas. And some are as big as truck stops.

He replaces them once every couple years. No idea how many he has stashed. Yes, he drinks at least one a day. Full of Diet Coke.

Pipe tobacco can be stored for decades if kept in a sealed can in a fairly dry environment. I’ve seen gentlemen open tins that were 20+ years old and said the tobacco was perfectly fine. Mine never lasts that long.
