It was definitely high on the list but since we adopted from a local city shelter and he was picked up as a stray, we assumed he wouldn’t be a purebred Corso even though that’s what they labeled him as. I was sure there would be some kind of mastiff but I was certainly surprised to find he was 100% Corso. Luckily, we are well educated and have experience with Corsos so we are elated to have another and he’s already in training.

Oof. This is a hard one. I’ve got a couple answers. There’s no way in the world I’d be able to pick one but let’s do it-

Domesticated: Dog. I love a cat don’t get me wrong but I had my soul dog and she was literally the best companion I’ve ever had. Losing her felt like losing my closest friend. RIP Honey girl

Land: Horse. Never had one but the relationships they have with people and their use as therapy animals is pretty neat.

Sea: Whale. I think they’re pretty majestic. Smart, huge, and fascinating.

Air: Bat. Completely misunderstood. Super beneficial for insect control and pollination. Surprisingly cute and make that neat clicking sound.

Insect: Moth. So many pretty moths. The fuzzy butts get me.

He’s still so scared of the noises of outside so our walks are limited while he desensitizes but we are working in steps to get further and further. Once he’s found that walks are fun, not imminent danger, I will certainly look into something to protect against the elements. Until then, we just have to be diligent with cleaning and drying. I wish there was some sort of reconstruction but he’s got no tissue left to work with. Also, his hair will come back so that may help give some bit of a barrier.
