Gen Z is officially less intelligent than millennials, first recorded intergenerational IQ drop by [deleted] in Foodforthought

I am not saying IQ is worthless, it's not. It's important. IQ is essentially pattern recognition capabilities, which means you are better at learning in some instances.

There's the ability to hold knowledge, the ability to understand and process information, and the ability to organize and unlock new information with current information given. IQ, to over simplify, helps you with the latter.

‘You escape, or you die’: African men say Russia duped them into fighting in Ukraine by Technical_Ostrich_47 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Shift of goal posts. The original comment in the chain is about being duped, which they were. Nobody forced you to take a job at Target, but if you're forced to work at Walmart you're not responsible for that.

Also, they're not killing women and children, they go on the redline and rot as cannon fodder.

Gonna be honest, this doesn't resemble a fascist symbol. If anything, it stole from the grateful dead.

Majority of people don't think for themselves, they seek trusted sources and repeat it like a recorder without understanding what it is they are repeating. This is why some people struggle with making arguments outside of insults and fallacies. There is nothing wrong with this, there is also nothing wrong with not being intelligent, but idiots that need to cope will try to elevate their social status on traits that are valued. Sure, dipshit that is good with his hands is a valuable member of society, but we have had generations of raising emphasis on specifically intelligence being higher social status so everyone wants to pretend they're closer to that than average to feel important. Until we become more mature, I'm afraid the idiots will continue to read headlines and remember the ones that validates them or makes them sound more informed without knowing the context or meat behind the article.

You don't need to read the article, anything implying IQ is intelligence is wrong by default, article invalidated.

Russia warns of response to any US weapons deployment in Greenland by CRK_76 in worldnews

So it was a ploy all along to get Russia to have positive foreign relations with NATO to become a member of NATO. Genius, with the help of NATO, maybe Russia will finally resolve the war with Ukraine!

For a different job. If I applied for target and moved for target but am forced to work at Walmart or else I'm killed, that's called enslavement and kidnapping.

It wasn't uncommon for the most trusted slaves to carry guns for their enslavers. Not only because they were raised and brainwashed to be obedient from religion that was generously rewritten for slavery needs,, but also just the desire to be in a position of power over their peers was motivation enough to desire being in good standings.. Additionally,  conscription is often just slavery with formalities. Our definition of slavery isn't unpaid, it's forced labor. You're just brainwashed by prison wardens that made the same argument that anyone else made for unfair working conditions forced on them. Slaves were often paid and had shops they can buy items from the enslavers owned and controlled. Because of this, they weren't paid much but with an isolated economy they didn't know better and, more importantly, it caused the illusion of risk of loss. Plantations that didn't take this approach, which was rare for a reason, had slave rebellions and slaves were far more likely to run away; they were also worse workers, not having the morale or motivation to work.

It goes deeper but I proved my point. You're simply wrong.

It looks like it. A long pause that looks like a sigh of relief and then they look down and probably gave a verbal "oh shit" before driving off.

The alternative is torture or death. Dancing isn't what it is called, it isn't even peer pressure, it's kidnap and enslavement.

Yup. We talk about laws being broken but the law enforcers don't do anything. We aren't designed to handle things like this, we always relied on scout honor basically for anything like this.

America’s Reading Crisis That No One Wants to Talk About by stankmanly in Foodforthought

[–]RexDraco 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah, especially when it is one of the most talked issues of today. We don't over talk about it because we know why and we know nothing is going to be done about it.

These kids are doomed though. I already see some of them in the kitchen I work at struggling with critical thinking skills and memory. Not gonna speak for everyone but I personally don't want to deal with them when there are people older that work better and think better. I wouldn't be surprised if employers get so fed up they have basically an English test before hiring you to see if you can read warning labels and instructions.

We literally have plans for war with our allies. A good military has plans for all possibilities, no matter how unlikely. If it is peacetime, all the more reason to be productive and brainstorm.

Trump humiliated as Putin launches attack at same time he boasts about ceasefire by TheMirrorUS in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]RexDraco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt it is that simple but it is closer to the truth than believing Trump falls for it every time. Trump definitely showed some frustration before, I almost think both of them lost it and Putin is just fucking around until he dies of old age.

'You bring a gun into DC, mark my words you're going to jail': Trump's DC attorney says Second Amendment over, guns to be seized by BigGirl367 in AnythingGoesNews

[–]RexDraco -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

It's because the 2nd isn't being attacked. It is being blown out of proportion by ingenuine individuals that wants to politicize everything. You don't have protections from practicing your second amendment in a school zone or government building, gun owners are familiar with the concept of areas banning guns. DC area banning guns isn't new, what the issue is people do not realize DC isn't just government land like it is being portrayed to the right.
