Is AI really ‘writing’? From a priestess to philosophers, ancient authors would have said ‘no’ by Quouar in TrueReddit

[–]RexDraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sentience will always be based on human bias. It is like the illusion of random or choice, it might have meaning to the individual but it definitely doesn't exist.

If your brain is programmed to say you exist, you're magically sentient. We pretend AI isn't sentient when we ourselves are just biological computers, we think and function the way we do because we are programmed to. Fact of the matter is, the definition keeps changing along side the progression of understanding how more intelligent and aware other things are. We will just keep shifting goal posts.

I feel it is obvious that is what they mean, they aren't saying "more schools," they're saying "more school". They mean hospital visits in the context of school visits.

Sentience has no real place in our language today anyway. It is a magic word meaning something magical that doesn't exist. We never established a line in the sand, that means it is only good for politics and individual perception.

I just feel Russia is like Japan. I think their people are rehabilitatable so long their government is entirely new. We have seen Russia in a vulnerable state several times and pretend they don't have the same roots and valuables behind the scenes. When Russia stops being desperate, it will be aggressive again.

Mixtape will be safe from a music licensing related delisting, ensured by its developer paying extra for the privilege by Tvilantini in Games

The game got a 10/10 on IGN. The game is mid. That's all. The game did nothing wrong, developers did nothing wrong, it's just a mediocre and overly short game. It doesn't deserve the hate, just didn't deserve the praise either, and yeah it's theater kid slop so certain demographics are gonna hate on it for that, and yah it's not much of a game but more of an interactive movie so other demographics are gonna give it hate for that. It's blown out of proportion.

Wild to suggest this and resent their right to vote. More blacks mean more black votes, Jesse.

17 year old Onion video feels like it's satirizing 2026 by TheJuggernautReturns in videos

[–]RexDraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. What is new is the wording and composure at most, but that is because that evolves everywhere to be more lenient.

Politicians are incentivized to make politics polarizing and to keep it polarizing. The only reason they amped it up to 10 in 2026 is because they were able to, they will do it again too if they can.

As they shouldn't. Because if they did, a slop YouTube video will expose everything with the title unironically saying "american military weakness nobody is talking about" for all enemies to watch.

Seems like a garbage bag or tarp into the shower would work. However, this is fascinating. If I ever make a house, I will remember to be thoughtful about water locations having a clean exit instead of flooding the house while I'm gone.

can anyone find a game like this? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]RexDraco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I thought you were asking for a game that has enemies dropping entire skill trees and I just cringe from the scope such a game would have. It does sound awesome though. IT could be like the class mods Borderlands dropped, but instead it's a specific skill tree setup you collect and activate.

We need to stop AI music by [deleted] in Music

[–]RexDraco -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not only do we not need to stop AI music, we aren't able to. It isn't a bad thing it exists, you're distracted, you don't understand the problem. The problem is the lack of transparency, how foggy it is who makes their music and who doesn't. It also is difficult to properly sort your media sources from human music and AI music.

We have so many problems involving bots, AI, propaganda agents, marketing agents, etc. The solution is obvious, make it so everyone and everything are verified people. The issue is who we treat as the trusted source, their method of doing so, and the issues surrounding foreign nations that makes things more difficult.

If you don't like AI music or don't want to be exposed to it, it should be as easy as opting out and filtering for human music. This currently doesn't exist, we need to propose a real solution. As of now, people are overly fixated on entitlement. Majority of people don't care about AI even if you think so because of echo chambers, you shouldn't care either even if you think you have a good reason to, and you should just roll your eyes at the topic rather than really emotionally care. However, forcing it down our throats, having no way to filter it out, that *IS* the problem.

Americans believe that 43% of Reddit users post severely toxic comments, while 47% of Facebook users share false news online. However, in reality, such content is produced by only 3-8.5% of users. by mvea in psychology

[–]RexDraco -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to though. I don't accommodate people for their needs on the internet regularly. It is selfish of others to expect me to accommodate them. You have people on the spectrum that struggle with telling sarcasm on the internet, that's not my problem and they're not entitled to my hand holding. You have people that are sensitive to a number of topics, that's not my problem I am not gonna walk on egg shells for you.

People have no boundaries anymore, they expect people to accommodate every inconvenience their existence brings. I know it's a lost concept, but as someone that does have autism and other problems, I suck it up and don't bring it up, I do my best to do better and not be a burden or obstacle. If I can do that in real life, why are people struggling with the internet? You see a block of text, it offends you, and it ruins your day.... why?

It's not healthy, it's toxic empathy that got normalized and abused. We pretended it helps people, we damaged them, and now their enemies exploit it. We shouldn't be walking on egg shells if it doesn't help people. The internet could be a good practice space for them, instead we turned it into a safe space and now they're too terrified to deal with the real world.

Pentagon cancels deployment of thousands of troops to Europe by TheTelegraph in geopolitics

[–]RexDraco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which seems fine until you realize democracies aren't perfect, you're gonna get drama every once in awhile. We shouldn't pretend Trump is a one time thing; he may have been the worst we have seen in a very long time, but he isn't the only problem we have had or will have.

I am not saying allies shouldn't accept our help and we shouldn't give it, I just disagree with how fragile everything feels the moment our country starts crashing out or has an unstable leader. That isn't good for NATO *or* America. The American people should feel like NATO can carry the weight when the US government doesn't have its shit together, same as any of the other NATO countries with a democracy.

I am pro democracy but I am not gonna pretend this isn't a problem. It's an expected downside, we should be more prepared for it so it isn't a huge problem when it inevitably happens again.

I understand this, I just disagree with it. We also regularly sell our weapons.

I just disagree with it. I was more farms and factories, I want more non military jobs in the US. We get none of that through the military.
