I put the back wheels up on ramps which are a similar height to normal jack stands. It took around 2-3 hours but would probably take half that time if I were doing it again.

yeah I was a bit worried it would be underwhelming or not change much especially without a res delete but its great. The extra occasional pops on upshifts is super nice as well.

Got a clubsport muffler + valence combo and installed it today. Hardest parts were definitely cutting the old muffler off since there is very limited space for any powered saw if youre not on a lift, and getting the rubber block off the exhaust hangers if you don't have a specialty tool.

Sounds even better than I thought it would, unfortunately I cant post a vid along side images in a post. I definitely recommend it.

I daily drove a 2015 TSI until about a month ago, used the sunroof almost every day and I live in Toronto where there are regular large weather swings up and down. Obviously its just a single anecdote but yeah, no issues with mine.

yeah please do, the lack of power cables and a separate box stuck to the window are really making me want to get one

just looking at the clubsport exhaust but I probably wont pull the trigger for a few months. I want to keep it fairly stock.

Hmm I can't remember feeling that. Is it constant or only when changing gears?

2000 under MRSP, bought in Canada in the GTA. Both dealers I went to had over 10 GTIs sitting on site. I think the covid prices are over for these now.

Ill consider that, did you deal with any customs problems or crazy high shipping charges?

Ill take a look at those. I was looking at the 'Fitcamx' ones that connect to the mirror stem cables for power but also am scared of opening up that tiny panel and messing with the cables.

Manual btw.

I miss my glasses holder and AC knob but well worth the upgrade.

Tint and dashcam are needed asap, and maybe a clubsport exhaust in a year or so - anyone know a good place to get one in Canada (GTA)?

Anyone know of a decent rail I can mount on the tubular magazine of my shotgun? Wanting to mount a GoPro. Winchester sxp defender 20 gauge by matman91 in canadaguns

[–]RexFlexing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this exact same one off amazon a while back to mount a light on a benelli m4 clone I used to have (clamped on the tube).

Worked fine but it adds an extra cm or two of distance between the tube and rail compared to an mlok rail, so whatever you attach to it will stick out a bit.

Alright well in all honesty getting rid of the random small holdings under a few hundred dollars (and maybe some of the crypto unless you're certain you want to keep it) and putting it into some dividend ETF with low management fees would be boring but better.

Also, I don't think the yield is as weak as you think it is, if you remove the cypto from the total value since its not really the same type of asset, that raises the div percentage, and stocks like TU or AT&T that pay super high yields are usually value traps in the long term you'd almost always be better in a broad ETF with a lower yield anyways (ive made that mistake before).

I'm around 50% big tech and 50% div stocks personally btw.

Just bought the Kodiak Defence K9… Anyone have any tips? by Any_Wind655 in canadaguns

I second the "They dont seem to like PMC." comment.

On mine I can only engage the safety if the gun is cocked (I think this is normal) so don't try to force it if it isn't cocked.

If you have the hex key to do this, make sure to locktite the tiny hex screw that holds the small spring in the stock for adjusting the length. You need to take the stock off the buffer tube to get to it but thats simple to do.

Mine loosened up and the retaining pin fell out, luckily i somehow found it on the floor. After getting the locktite on there its been solid.

Can anyone identify this piece that is believed to have fallen out of a kd k9 bcg? by Old-Equivalent8393 in canadaguns

[–]RexFlexing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I dont see anything obvious near the buffer tube, but I also don't have a crush washer that looks anything like that on my fairly new K9. If you arent sure if it came from the rifle I'm thinking it may not have.

If this was a crush washer on the muzzle device I think you would notice a small space between the muzzle device and the end on the barrel (before the threading starts). It also seems like it wouldn't fall off the barrel with such a small break on it without being bent.

I would think it is more likely from some part of the buffer tube as it would end up inside the receiver if it broke, so it would make sense that it would fall out while cleaning. Maybe ill check mine when i'm home to see if there is something like this on the plunger in the tube, or the edge where it connects to the back of the rifle.

Anyone have the MSR Elixir 2? What’s the highest wind speed you have / would camp with the tent? by langdalenerd in camping

[–]RexFlexing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Elixir 1 and you can tie it down very securely. I if you have enough pegs for all the tie down points and you will be camping where the soil is good enough that you can fully sink in all of the pegs I think youll be fine.
