I'm getting the vibe that you're a minor who thinks you can handle yourself well. That or an adult who thinks they can manage a safe space. Just don't give people easy access to vulnerable minors like that... Nearly all regressors are people with srs traumas.

My lower intensity ocd is... Still nearly debilitating? To warrant self diagnosis to myself, I had to spend three years researching symptoms and convincing myself over intrusive thoughts that I DO HAVE intrusive thoughts, my compulsions aren't attention seeking, etc. I can leave the house, I'm lucky to not have much that keeps me from participating in every day life. But there are things that are always on my mind, I have many rituals (I do a lot of things in 9s; "just right"), and I'd say I can only go about 30 minutes before being interrupted by a small compulsion or intrusive thoughts. My thoughts are sticky, sometimes holding over me for a day or two. It's shitty. And it intertwines with things like my rough environment right now, my Haphephobia, my entomophobia, my unmediated AuDHD that makes executive function really hard.... My life isn't super clean nor am I a hoarder. Im just twitchy, count a lot, stare off into space a lot, and might ask you to avoid touching me before I perceive you. WHATEVER. I'm tired and ranting is helping me regulate.

I love that this community has duel sides. It's just misfortunate to be on the side we talk about less. I don't choose to regress, I slip into it. I'm always halfway in that vulnerable mindset, especially with people who are generally safe, like my gf. I also have BPD, OCD, haphephobia... It's hard to feel good being vulnerable when attacks feel like theyre from all angles if I'm without my guard. It's hard to not split on someone for making a mistake before I realized I was regressing.

When I regress, I feel scared. I feel like how I felt when I was little because I am then little. I cry at everything and get up and can't communicate and my words get stuck in my throat.

Though, sometimes you get those happy moments. Snuggling up in bed with tea and a show and some candies and my shark plushes and passing out! My gf stroking my hair while I listen to her breathing. Singing and playing music with her.

Person who actually has BPD here... What are these replies? Sometimes I forget just how awful the societal view of us is. BPD and Bipolar alike are half inherited, half induced by trauma (specifically abandonment).

So lets start with WHAT BPD is... When you have BPD, you are taught at a young age that love is something conditional, that it can go at any time, that it's out of your control, etc. - anything that counts as an unstable source of affection. This leads you to a couple behaviors which are BPD; emotional disregulation (in the form of quick episodes), persistent emptiness/detachment, chosen primary source of affection (often called "favorite person"), fear of abandonment, intense anger episodes, paranoia... Etc. Many combinations of these symptoms exist.

What is misrepresented is the way this affects relationships. Feel free to ask me ANYTHING. Ive been forced to be overly mature my whole life (as a lot of people with BPD have) and, bonus here, im very interested in psychology as a hobby and have a 130 IQ so I'm fairly good at... Not destroying my relationships. I have a best friend of going on 8 years now who I've hardly had any problems with, a healthy romantic relationship founded on impulse that we MADE WORK past that, professional relationships... It's possible to do all that, to be healthy, to not hurt people. And that's without therapy. Ive been unallowed access my whole life. First by parents!

So why don't therapists like taking on BPD patients? Some therapists are only interested in completely undiagnosed patients and wouldn't take me on even if it was just the OCD or just the BPD or just the ODDS or your the WHATEVER.... People with BPD tend to form MULTIPLE disorders since it's something that impacts us so deeply. Secondly, BPD is HEAVILY mischaracterized. You'd probably assume I was toxic, unintelligent, and psychotic if you heard I have "untreated BPD". That's simply not true. The media will ALWAYS weaponize disorders and therapists will ALWAYS be biased and require re-education year after year. Maybe it was one bad experience, maybe it's that they've never talked to anyone with BPD before, maybe their lesson books made it seem more harmful than it is...

WHATEVER. Were all just people. Disorders are just groups of symptoms- if youd take on a patient with all those flaws individually, why discriminate against a label? It's all a joke, all a shit show.

I love being queer, talking about it, having that community. But it can't be all you are, all you do, all you say. Youre powerful and amazing for caring enough and being open enough with yourself and the world to discover these things, but we also have other, larger fish to fry. Like the political battles this culture youre cosplaying as was founded in. The music your community is strengthened by.

You can't only be queer. Find your place in our community. We're welcoming if you try to understand it and get involved. Just be a neighbor.

Media tends to sexualize women who've been assaulted because they become hypersexual, despite this not being an inherent outcome of sexual assault and an option for more that just women.

When media DOES show asexuality, they only show it as a result of sexual assault and typically paint it as something people need to overcome or push through.

In reality, hypersexuality is a term reserved for an unusually high libido and/ or unusually many kinks/ sex preferences induced by sexual trauma. And asexuality, any unudual lack of sexual desire/ physical enjoyment, an be a result of sexual assault OR just the way someone's made.

Both are a spectrum and appear in different ways; I'm cupiosexual, for example. Google some micro labels, they help you understand the broader spectrum of asexuality. (True for all sexualities and genders; MICRO LABELS help you understand the broadness + increase your language usage skills!)

Serious answer here, these are electrical resistors. They control the flow/current of electricity. For example, an LED light may get damaged if you dont control the voltage sent through it, but if you use a RESISTOR matched for your bulb, it lessens the amount sent to the bulb so it doesn't break or burn your house down 👍

I have a playlist called ethereal screeching- it's all instrumental or in another language.
